He's going to have a big role on this team, whether it's in the kicking game or on defense. He's going to get better every day. He's going to make some mistakes, but the one thing is when he makes mistakes, he's going full speed. I love his work ethic, attitude and the way he approaches the game."
  2. Wasn't he here last fall?
  3. The Bosa holdout is really giving JB1 the opportunity to receive a lot of attention and it appears he is playing exactly as we all knew he would.
  4. A couple of more: http://kckingdom.com/2016/08/03/kansas-city-chiefs-justin-march-picks-up-where-he-left-off/ https://arrowheadaddict.com/2016/08/04/expectations-vs-hype-chiefs-lt-and-ilbs/
  5. Baskin & Phelps interviewed TB on 7/28 http://cleveland.cbslocal.com/2016/07/28/terry-bowden-explains-how-hes-using-lebron-james-cavs-as-motivation/ This was a really interesting interview and Bowden reaffirmed his roots in Akron, mentioning his recent marriage.
  6. The comment about the line stuck out to me and validated what I thought I was seeing at the spring game.
  7. The bowl was extremely meaningful to the players and they wear their rings proudly. The bowl is really about the experience for the kids, first and foremost.
  8. I agree with this record. Is it optimistic? Yes, but after what I saw at spring ball, I am optimistic. It was the best both first and second string offense has looked over the last 3 years. I am really excited at Chapman's development at QB. Not having a viable backup made me nervous once Tommy started rolling last year. We may need Chapman's touch on the long ball to effectively leverage out speed threats at receiver. I am not worried about the offensive line. They provided ample time in spring ball against our still, excellent defense. We lost some outstanding players, but the tale that behind them had been building and this team now sees itself as winners and that is intangible that none of these preseason articles will notice.
  9. I dont think they can appear on the roster until they are on campus. We will see come come in July.
  10. Both Guiser and Scott are big impact players. Gusset has flown under the radar, alot. His leadership will be key this year. I love watching Scott make plays. The word that comes to mind with him is, "clutch." All in all, a pretty good list.
  11. That's one way to look at it. However, I thought as went on the 5 game tear last year, "This team is learning how to win." The big won over Buffalo was important because we did not just match the level of play of our competition, we went to the next level. We have never returned players to the field with that many wins before. There is a lot of room for optimism. To me, beating Utah State was like beating an Ohio level team.
  12. +1 for Rachel. I hope he has a killer year. We have a lot of young talent at LB.
  13. Agree. Better job being on field leader, too. Pohll was never viable last year with the offense we ran. He couldn't run the ball well enough to be a threat and was too injury prone.
  14. I thought the same thing - come get your photo taken with the trophy.
  15. I think we can easily put the whole argument around local recruits to rest. "If you build it (a winning team), they will come."
  16. It is a strange article, to be honest. We are in an ideal situation. We have a returning proven winner and a back-up, who from all appearances, is playing games almost as well as the returning starter. Chapman seemed overwhelmed by the speed of the game last year. The opposite seemed true in spring ball. This is your typical off-season article stretching to find something I threshing to write about. The part about the offensive line, to me, demonstrated a fair lack of knowledge of the program and another article written based on stats and not really from having watched the Zips.
  17. Really nice Q&A with the press on Chiefs.com with Justina rich. Seems like the same great guy as when he was UA. http://m.chiefs.com/media-center/videos/Justin-March-My-Injury-Made-Me-Hungrier/d8aae163-8184-4178-8ca9-8ff5557edf9d
  18. I ser your point, but, personality and coach ability are almost as big of a part of recruiting as talent.
  19. I have seen the coaches use the #zipemup hash tag.
  20. Welcome and thanks for being a good sport about him picking the Zips over staying local.
  21. Yeah, I often wonder if these type of rankings do anything more than reading a few headlines and looking at stats.
  22. Considering how much more we ran the ball last year, those are pretty good stats.
  23. They didn't seem what I saw at the spring game: http://www.orlandosentinel.com/sports/college/college-gridiron-365/os-college-football-countdown-100-akron-0518-20160517-story.html
  24. I really hope he gets to stick with LB and prove everyone wrong.
