If they could sell it...they would do it.There is sportsline on WTAM every night. But I'm sure that if you called about to talk about the Zips or the MAC, Kevin Keane would make quick work of the call and go on to the next topic in rapid fashion.

Fear, we, like you, were listening on the way home....they had two long black outs...after the first one, they cut away to a spot...which right away tells me the problem was in the remote hook up and not back at the station. The board up lost his line and went to commercial.I thought it was over then, but they went back to the Q with Frenchy and Dambrot.About 5 minutes later, they cut out again...long silence...the board op goes to commercial again...but instead of re-establishing contact with the Q, they just rejoined regular satellite programming.I'm not sure if they use a dedicated line...satellite, microwave or what.I know French and will e-mail him tomorrow....we'll see what really happened.

Guys, I've finally gotten to the point where I can post here again.I was there last night, and the shock, although still there, is becoming manageable. This was the most difficult loss I've endured as a fan. And growing up in NE Ohio that's saying something. This one hurt more than Byner's fumble in Denver. However, time to stop crying in one's beer....in my opinion.Let's stop blaming the timekeeper, the refs, the MAC and accept some responsibility. There were a million variables that led up to the unfortunate outcome. A lot of those variables fall on us too.Excuse me here, and it hurts to write this, but lets support Miami as our Conference representative. If you know a Miami fan...congratulate them.Let's hold up the reputation of our school. Let's hold up our reputation as Akron fans.I'm going out on a limb by posting this...but I feel that I've earned my bones as an Akron fan. I've sat through the rainy Saturday nights with 2,000 people in the Bowl playing Eastern Kentucky. I've had a football season ticket dating back to Faust's first year.Win with class...lose with class. And I feel that our school and all of us fans...have class. Thanks

And there's no reason for that considering they are owned by the largest radio company in the nation.WNIR is licened to Can't and has a long history with Can't State..doubt that they'd do it.WHLO, which is 1350's sister station, has a lot of balls to their daytime signal, but their nightime pattern lacks.I'm thinking the place to go is WAKR. They are locally owned, and 1590's signal ain't that bad...even at night.

I did hear them give the final scores...each morning on the Bill Wills show. But you missed my point. They're not going to do much more because they would be promoting the event in which WKNR has the rights.Fairness and journalism has nothing do do with it.$$$$ and ratings does....not to mention a hatred for the other station.
-
Guys, I can help you out here a little bit...WTAM did not do any significant MAC Tourney coverage because WKNR had the rights.Simple as that.Same reason why they don't significantly cover Ohio State...WKNR has the rights.Conversely...that's why you hear nothing but Indians, Browns and Cavs coverage on WTAM...they have the rights. They consider the coverage cross promotion.Good luck, but I feel your comments will fall on deaf ears. That's just the way the radio business works.

Very nice!Glad to see another 88.1 alum on the board!"The Great 88."

I heard him say it himself...when the Daily Show with Jon Stewart had him as a guest when they taped the show in Columbus.Personal observation. I'm sure he picked OSU because of their outstanding academic programs.
-
I don' know...did you see all that security that lined the court after last night's game.Storming the court could be a risky proposition.
-
That says it all.I'm a former baseball player....respect the streak. Wear the same socks you wore last night.
-
I heard they opened the curtains on the opposite side of the benches.I couldn't see that from where I was sitting.I guess the curtains were pulled on just three sides then...we are talking about the third tier...right?

I honestly do not think that flàsh is a bad mascot. Maybe that is because I watched most of the toledo - miami game, and the toledo mascot is some dufus in a blue jumpsuit with a blue and yellow motercycle helmet on (which I think is supposed to be a rocketman er something) and all he ever did was bang two drumsticks together.I have to agree with you....that Toledo guy is goofy. From what I've seen at the Q this week..and I've been to all of them since Thursday...the strangest mascots are Toledo and Central Michigan, who had this guy with a basketball for a head.I mean really.Speaking of mascots...I was in a watering hole on Huron Rd before a game Thursday, and bumped in to a couple of Bowling Green alums. Really nice guys. Even though BG is out of it, for the men anyway, they're sticking around for the whole thing. One of them was Freddy Falcon in 1990. He had some great stories.

My apologies....GO ZIPS BEAT CRYAMI The only thing you have to apologize for is not including this in your post:
-
Great job guys..there's nothing more to say...that just about covers it.But perhaps one of the best signs last night (besides the K.e.n.t. sucks sign of course) was the one in the front row behind the Zips bench:"I've Got Wood."...priceless!
-
Yes, talk about anything past tonight is not productive.Let's keep our eye on the prize!
-
Did anyone make the Rowdies take the Can't Statecks sign down at the Q last night?I noticed it was up for only a few minutes.
-
I think we have to keep them running...don't let them control the tempo with their half-court play. They're a smart bunch who can shoot the lights out at times. However, I think we have more talent, athleticism, and if we're shooting well, things just may go our way.If it's a close game, and comes down to a lot of time outs and free throws at the end...well, that's the time to be concerned.WE MUST CONTINUE TO IMPROVE AT THE FOUL LINE.
-
That's just WRONG! Why would you do that? Ever been to Muncie?
-
Yes, lets close this thread out until after this evening.Thank you
-
They did NOT open the curtains.
-
They were applying a Kraft logo to the floor at the Q after the game tonight....so...sounds right.

I really think the difference tonight was maturity and our wide bodies in the paint. The first five minutes of the second half was key in turning the game around. We started working the ball in to Travis and Wood, who just had to fight their way to the rim. They either scored or were fouled. And speaking of foul shots...I think we've made some progress in this area. I believe we missed ten tonight. Romeo was six for six or eight for eight...I can't remember.Who would have thought Dials would be the one to lay up two bricks from the line. What a fantastic game.

It is actually Keonta Howell who hurt his foot and I couldn't find anything on the Toledo web site (surprise) confirming that he'll be out. The Toledo Blade article mentioned that he may try to play tonight. It's being reported on the MAC board that Mr. Howell broke his foot.Lovie is outraged!Gilligan could care.http://www.ncaabbs.com/forums/mac/phpbb/vi...pic.php?t=44597

I hope you're right 19.And yes, it is the JAR that is tainting my perspective on this.I was soooo disappointed the first time I walked into that place. It was hardly worth taking the parking lot and old fire station that used to be there!
