I'll agree with you. But gosh, I hate hearing that word "rebuild", as I stated earlier. It's tough to think about our program possibly falling back to that condition so quickly. Uncertainty is just not a state that we're used be being in as Zips basketball fans.
-
Looks like you got em all covered now. Dude, This is way too much pressure.

What ever happened to Jack Mehoff and Harry Ballszack? Were they not in that class?.
-
Again, just another reason why some people who appear to be glad that Keith is gone might someday really appreciate those "boring and meaningless" 21+ win seasons.
-
One of the other old guys might have to clear this up for me. Hasn't Akron's football and basketball coaches always been a speaker at one of these weekly luncheons at some point each year? It seems like we only ever heard about it when Keith was going to be there. But, I think it goes back much further, and always had our football coach at some point each year too. If so, I appreciate that they regard us as a significant enough entity to keep us involved all of these years.

I would not have even been allowed to sniff the air inside an honors classroom.

Two semesters of Eastern Civ. and Two semesters of Western Culture were general requirements in the early 80's. Has that changed?
-
I'll rate this as one of the Top 10 funniest posts of the year thus far.

I'm happy to hear that a couple of you have fonder memories of those classes that I did. Good for you

Am I the only one who feels a lot more hopeful if the word "retool" is used, rather than "rebuild"? And go ahead and click on the article. Apparently our hometown newspaper that struggles to give us enough coverage has no problem displaying several pictures of OU celebrating a MAC tournament win over the Zips. I understand that they may have been looking for some Groce-related images, but spare me the pain. Please. Reminding us about a bad event in the past during this rocky time might not be a good idea.

Did you really graduate in 72 ? If so, I don't know how you remember your professor's name in one of those general requirement classes. I took those classes about 35 years ago. No way do I remember that anymore. But I DO remember this......wasn't it Western Culture and Eastern Civ.?

No. The gift is 5 Million. The artifacts are on loan.
-
Unless we can find about 20 people who each have the same 5 Million, and all of them allocate it to an Arena, then we are in business

You beat me to it.

I feel the weight on my shoulders. I will do my best.

Isn't University Food Services now located in that building? That might all make sense now. That was always my first guess as to the origin of the cookies.
-
Where the hell did you find that? That's hilarious.

Thanks for adding additional information. Like I said earlier, they are always available in the Suites when you put in your food orders. And they've been at different dinner meetings for organizations that support or advise the UofA that I have attended. I never knew that they put them up for purchase anywhere on campus. My first guess was that they came from University Food Services. I also wish there was a retail outlet where they could be easily obtained. I think it would be great to have these at the grocery stores around town in the bakery section, and it would be a benefit to the University in it's efforts to create visibility among future students and fans. But that's opens an entire can of worms. They might have to get a license and pay royalties, etc. But a possible easy way around that could be if a group of stores did it as part of a corporate sponsorship. Acme? Did you hear that? I hope to find some time soon to ask some questions and maybe dig into this a little deeper. Sort of just like the in-depth reporting we get from the ABJ.

K92.....don't do that to me, man. That's torture.

Very strange sometimes how this game works, isn't it? Got one brother to commit, got the other to follow, and then he bolts for his own upgrade opportunity. This is why everyone in the coaching profession knows each other. It's the same at the lower levels too.

Amen Brotha.

His day was last Sunday, as someone already pointed out.

Very, very interesting. I often wondered how much LeBron would care about the Zips after all of the guys he knew from Akron High School basketball were gone. So, now I wonder even more now that Keith is gone. If he has a relationship with Robby, I'd say it's possible that it could keep him connected to our program in some way. I hope. I guess it now looks like a really good move on our part to get him so involved in the Academic side of the U of A in a big way before Keith departed.

i know this has come up before, and was commented on. If it's true, then I'd say that they must have felt really, really negative about his ability to coach the team if they got rid of him in the middle of a golden situation like that. Why would they care how he was doing compared to Northwestern in Chicago if he had a #10 or better national class? This all just doesn't add up for me.

Ok, you've got my interest in the cookies once again... First, I need to finally ask some people who/where these are made. My first thought is that they are coming from University Food Services or a contracted outside food vendor since they are always available in the Suite packages and at some other University meetings I have attended? Secondly, I need to find out why the heck they aren't available for purchase somewhere. Like I said previously, I see a great opportunity for Acme to get involved again. I'd line up at the damn Acme Bakery counter for a dozen of those this Saturday morning, if I could.
