I agree with just about everything you're saying here, except that you seem to be comparing Ball to Kareen Hunt as both being upper echelon MAC backs? Unless he ever plays or does something, it's all potential. Nobody in the MAC surely even cares about Ball this point. They haven't seen him, and they haven't played against him either.

It's tough to do what Miami did. They moved pretty well defensively. So, even when they fronted him....which requires even more backside help every single time time you do it....they were still able to move well enough to cover the rest of the floor. When you play behind him, at least you always have his path to the basket sealed off. I applaud them for taking the tougher route and succeeding. Keith seemed to indicate in the postgame that he thought we were tired. If the Dog is confronted with that same situation again, maybe he'd have more energy to battle through it. I'll guess that most teams will feel more comfortable playing behind him and chipping down with a guard, rather than sacrificing the other post defender to help when he catches an entry pass over the top when being fronted.

Nice to get through the road trip with 2 wins, no matter how good these two teams might be this year, and how close the game were. We'll take 4-0 any day. Kwan's block is the defensive play of the year so far. But, WTF was Miami doing shooting a contested 2-pointer when they were down 3 with 7 seconds left? That's a real lack of concentration regarding the game situation. We should never get outrebounded by a team like that. And it was because we got outworked for those boards. That's the hardest reason to take.

You can count me in on that too. And ESPN Gameday coming to our campus. And everything else that comes along with that kind of success. I'll take any coach who can bring me that kind of year here in Akron after what I've been through in my lifetime as a Zips fan. I don't give a damn where he goes the following year.

I don't care who's "spearheading" the movement to a incorporate a new metric. The part you're likely being naive about is that, in the end, do you really expect it to be less favorable to the "Power Conference" schools? You're forgetting what will drive all of the decisions in the end. As our next President says...Follow The Money.

Great. But my first thought would be..... Why is the NCAA considering ways to make College Basketball selections more objective while they have moved College Football to more subjective criteria.

Yep, that's pretty lame to me. They might never have another opportunity like this again to reach a little higher on the totem pole. I'm wondering if they are possibly feeling like they can capitalize on the current enthusiasm and build the alum/ex-athlete participation by grabbing a former player? I can't come up with anything else that makes this sound like a good hire.

I was wondering if anyone else knew this. Tommy brought Dabo to Clemson after he was part of an entire staff that got let go from Alabama, and was completely out of coaching for 2 years. So, I wonder if Dabo is thanking Tommy today for the National Championship trophy he's holding?

Say it isn't so.

My wife swears that she's seen her on American's Got Talent, or one of those reality shows. If so, she's probably a big enough star now that she'll never return to the JAR again .

Zips @ Buckeyes — March 15th 7pm on ESPN

I was surprised that the Suckeye Faithful weren't squawking after last year. Are people calling for his head now? I actually thought they might be a little better than expected when they gave Virginia a run earlier in the year, but they're really Tanking now. If we do play them again this year in the NIT, they'll probably certainly put us on the Road again, regardless of rankings. And since OSWho will probably get an early exit from their conference tournament again, it will be the same scenario all over again. They will have several days rest, and we will likely be playing our 4 game in 6 days again. -
Bring back the girl on the Unicycle with the plates and bowls. I miss her.

I edited my post. Didn't want that to be misunderstood, but I used the word "should" and should have said "shouldn't". I meant to convey that it's not a bad thing to be fighting with Cincinnati over the same players, if that's the case.
-
He looked like a "deer in headlights" on the sidelines, trying to be a head coach. It was comical. If we're fighting with Cincinnati over the same players, shouldn't we consider that a good thing? I'm sure his relationships with some of those players will be an advantage, even if they recall that his previous tenure as a head coach was a flop.

I understand that the Danang students are thrilled to be getting free admission to all Akron football and basketball games. Just as thrilled as our own students in Akron as a matter of fact.

I remembered thinking that the first time I saw Reggie step on the court for us. -

I was just thinking about that game too. You found the numbers before I did. Nice job. I remember him going to the bench late in the game, and the crowd was chanting Reg-gie...Reg-gie. I thought I was at a 1977 Yankees game for a minute. -

NBA? Enjoying Kwan's improvement this year a little too much? Go for it. Holmes has all the physical tools, and had the numbers. Hard to compare him at all to a guy who just reached 10 pts. and 6 rebounds per game. I'd unfortunately have to rate Kwan's chances at zero right now, unless he has a remarkable last 15 games of his career. But I love what he's done during his career to become a bigger contributor for the Zips. -

I liked those announcers last night. I don't recall any name mistakes or anything like that. Maybe they did a bit of homework before the game? It's a far cry from the past, for sure. Maybe the days of Dam-Bro and Anteeno and Ulysses Grant, etc., are behind us? -

I don't know if anyone joined me when I proclaimed before the season that he'd be Keith's first 20 ppg scorer this year. I don't think that's going to happen now. Maybe it still can. The truth is that he gets put into some very tough situations against some teams. Just yesterday, we were talking about how he can get worn down with triple teams. Last night, he rarely even got doubled teamed. And the single teams they put on his were complete mismatches that often resulted in easy scores. That can make a guy look pretty fresh at the close of a game. I don't know how the rest of the league might decide to play him. But, I'm sure I can take a guess at what most of them might do when they see that we scored 89 points when nobody helped on him, and 66 a few nights earlier when he got a ton of attention. EDIT: I see that Big Dog is at 16ppg right now. I'm not a math expert, but since we're roughly half way through the season he obviously needs to average somewhere in the mid-20's from here on out to eclipse the 20 ppg mark. -

A really super, super kid too. I pull for him. Unfortunately, his motor is way ahead of his concentration. -
