Some of us noticed that he had 5 fouls on the stat boards on each end of the court. We figured that the boards were wrong because even MAC refs can't be that bad.

If you pay attention, NIU fans constantly complain that their team can't recruit and that their classes are awful. It doesn't seem to have hurt the team much though.

Overall, the most interesting comment from Bowden's press conference was that he wants to make the University of Akron the premier Midwest school for players that want to play football and compete on the track and field team. He mentioned that this was a huge reason for us getting both Kwaderrius Smith and Bryce Jones as transfers. If it continues to get us fast, skilled players, I am all for it.

A recruit by the name of Tre Richardson seems to have commited to the Zips also. It looks like he is from Can't Roosevelt. He didn't have an official announcement either.

They did mention a few players that transferred last year. Kevin Gladdney, Jojo Natson, Kwaderrius Smith and Bryce Jones were all treated like newcomers. I found him not mentioning Krok to be unusual. He spent a lot of time talking about how he is rebuilding the o line.

Bowden commented that he is not allowed to talk about Gilchrist. He must not have signed today.

Tonight proved earlier than I expected that the MAC is going to be really weird this year. It is going to look a lot different than most people would have expected coming in to the year.

I have always thought that Hurley is a good coach, he just happens to also be one of the world's biggest man-childs.

Mr. Hurley seems to be keeping his reputation alive at ASU. Its a shame that we will not be able to see him freak out on Tuesday.

it was actually pretty weak. He just barely tipped the ball. It was still pretty unexpected though.

I got one!

My quick takes: 1) This game was,fairly called, but boy do I hate how many fouls all the refs are calling this year. 2) The Zips rebounding today was beyond atrocious. It looked like they didn't want the ball half of the time. 3) I might be in a minority, but I really am not a fan of Kwan on this team. I don't think there has even been a shot that he has taken that I thought was going in. 4) Josh might have been a big recruit and has a lot of promise, but he has looked lost on the court so far this year. Way too many turnovers and poor decisions. I think Ivey has been far and away better. 5) I love Antino. He has anchored this team with his energy and hits so many impossible shots. Even in this loss, I lost my breath a couple of times watching him play. I can't wait until he and Noah are roaming the court together again. Overall, this is a really bad loss. I firmly believe that the Zips are a much better team than W-GB. Hopefully we learn from it and hit out stretch of weak games with a vengeance!
