They have been advertising a Saturday double header pretty heavily. WBB game at 5, MBB at 7:30. I doubt they will change it this late.
-
According to ESPN, attendance was 3,625

I think that this is a game made for Jimond. If he can being constantly cutting/ finding holes in EMU's zone, I expect him to have a pretty huge night. I believe that Big Dog will have around 10 assists in the game.

They lost the franchising rights. The restaurant is still open, it is just called Gridiron now.

How is this team getting outrebounded so badly? Miami looks pathetic down low, but are just destroying the Zips.

I want the best coach available. I don't care if that coach is 25 or 85. Last year Fleck was the best coach in the MAC and was therefore desired by bigger schools. Minnesota offered him a rather large raise and better resources so he took it. I have no issue with someone taking great opportunities. If a MAC school wants to keep a young coach they can always double down and prove that their school is the right place to be. It very rarely works, because it is very rarely true that it is better for the coach to stay. I don't understand why people feel that loyalty means something here. History has shown that the best teams in the MAC don't have there coaches stick around. Many OU fans are getting tired of their current regime because they have not done anything. When is the last time the OU won a MAC title? I would much rather have a coach that comes in, raises the standards at UA, and then moves on instead of continuing to wallow in this .500 record bubble that we seem to be in.

I think this article makes it pretty clear why he chose Toledo. He states that he wants to be "that guy" and his mother mentions that Toledo is losing two seniors at his position. It seems that he just wants playing time and to take on a leading role. Akron's teams aren't exactly known for being centered around one person, whereas Toledo has been at different points.

In other words, all basketball games that are not being broadcast already. It just means that if the game is picked up by another network there won't be an ESPN3 stream. There should be no more cruddy streams with no audio that freezes constantly.

Don Haskins Sun Bowl Invitational

It does look like they have updated their site to remove the video feed. There were originally two feeds for the games: one audio and one video. This is really disappointing. -

It looks like the games involving UTEP are streamed at this site, which has a $9.95 subscription fee. So it looks like no way to watch the UC Irvine game and a paid stream for the second game only if we play UTEP. -
http://www.espn.com/mens-college-basketball/preview?gameId=400915774 Really good game preview by ESPN. Mentions the Zips strengths, injury concerns, and even has a quote from coach. You can tell that the author put in the work for this article. We should play top 10 teams more often, this is the best coverage the Zips have received from anyone yet this year.

I'm pretty sure that he has already hired an agent. I know an agent has been talking on Twitter as if he is representing Jerome. It seems that Mr. Lane has fully committed to this decision.
-
It was a technical foul which gave Coppin State 1 free throw. Steve French commented that he thought it would be 2 shots. It is definitely worth it for only a potential of 1 point.

Ok, lets use a more apt comparision. Tajae Sharpe was a receiver at UMASS last year that broke multiple school records. PFF gave him their 4th highest grade for a receiver. He went in the 5th round about thirty spots above Jatavis. He had a much more productive career and at 6'4" was certainly not undersized. He has gone on to be one of the Titans top targets in his rookie year. Again, I want Jerome to be drafted and be successful, I just think that people underestimate the challenge of being drafted to the NFL.
-
I give him about a 30% chance. Jatavis had people talking all year about how he was a great talent from a small conference and that teams should take notice and he still went in the 5th. Nobody has talked about Jerome. Hopefully he can impress some people on pro day/ get an invite to a combine, but he has a lot of work in front of him.
-
I doubt doubt that, but can next year's qb play really be worse than this years? Its not like he tore up defenses this year, I would fully expect him to have much better stats next year if he stuck around. Maybe he is worried about not having JoJo next season, letting defenses fully key on him yet again.
-
Wow, I was not expecting this. He certainly has the talent, but I have heard no buzz about his draft prospects.
-
That's scary. Its not like the people in front of him are top tier defenders. He must be atrocious to not be able to crack the lineup for that reason.
-
This game is pathetic. Instead of working on improving our offense and strengthening the team to help in our game against a ranked team on Saturday, the Zips are just standing around and jacking up every shot that they can. No effort to run any semblance of a play, or get it into the post.
-
Exactly. To create a legacy at a school like Akron, a player has to elevate the school to a national level while they are there. Think Hayward, Steph Curry, Adam Morrison, etc. In other words, when a player leads our team to a deep tourney run, then we can start wondering if future fans will care.

Not that it makes it acceptable, but a little perspective. EMU plays FOUR NAIA teams this season. Not even division 3, four teams that are not in the NCAA. Our schedule could be a whole lot worse.
-
I have only ever heard that Bowden called the plays that first year before giving it up in the second season. If that is true, it is very strange.
-
One thing that is incredibly frustrating about this team is that, according to ESPN's app, Antino, Noah, Josh, Aaron, and Tavian all did not take a two-point shot all game. It was all threes. I understand what our team is, but that is a little ridiculous. That is half our team! Jimond is so important for this team to be able to create space and get all of these shooters open. I really hope that he gets to a point that he moves into the starting rotation.

Will WMU most likely lose if they play a top team? Yes. Is it guaranteed? No. There is a reason that teams plays the game.
