The point of the matter is declaring war on fellow students and fans of the zips is suicide for a program already desperate for fan support. If she has all these ties in the department, why doesn't she help us out and tell the athletic department to fix some things because it is obvious things need to be fixed. Instead of helping the situation, it just escalates things. That's what frustrates me. The athletic program made the rules so do not attack the students who partake in the rowdies. IT'S NOT OUR FAULT. Go to the athletic director. Go to Yurickek. They are the dudes running this. The students have to be on the same side though...all the students.

Then these people should come to games early. I mean come on. There were like 50 people who actually came at 5:30 against Can't. Those people who came late will not be at the other remaining games. Bank on it. If we had an influx of students every game I bet the athletic department would consider adding more seats down behind the basket. It's their fault for not coming to all the games. The athletic department is partly to blaim too because they've tried to do too much and most of it did not work. They need to fix this and stop alientating the students, and the students need to grow up.

These are probably the same people who attend one game a year, and if the team wants the ROWDIES to stop coming to the games then so be it. The JAR will go from a basketball game to a church congregation real fast. Funny how their coach is willing to donate 5 grand to the same group they oppose.

Just everything about this game should make all zip fans proud. First of all, our pregame routine literally rocks!!!! The pyrotechnics were brilliant and the music really pumps up the crowd and I'm sure the team. It appears to me that the zips are a second half team. In the first half, we seem to "feel" out opponents and then we make great adjustments at the half. It's just a reflection of a well coached team. The rowdies...omg....were fantastic. Man I wish we had that turnout every game. The rowdies stayed in the game when we were down unlike the OU crew. How about the interaction with the band? I'm starting to think that the band on the floor is not such a bad idea. The director has been adding great ideas and the drumline was a nice addition. Everytime the little Can't contingent tried to start their little screw the roo or whatever we quickly shut them up. No Can't fans were heard in our house.

Thank goodness we will see an OSU team without Smith, Ginn, Gonzalez, and Pittman. They'll still beat us but maybe we can hold our own? I'm wondering how we are going to score on their defense. JD's offense has been lackluster at best, and make no mistake, that OSU defense will still be good. We'll be breaking in a new QB too and an O-line. If we had a ton of veterans going up against OSU underclassmen, then that is when an upset is possible. If we ever were to make a run at a BCS bowl no win would catapult us into contention more than this opportunity.

Bottom line is our revenue will automatically increase once a new facility is built. We'll make more money from the suites and box seats alone with that huge press box. I know Toledo makes a ton with their luxury seating. We also have to figure in that we'll probably average higher attendance with a campus facility, and we won't have to charge lower $$ for tickets with an improved gameday venue. Also, don't forget that the facility will host many other university and nonuniversity events which will bring in additional funds. For the time being, though, we'll have to suck it up with what we got, but this is another area that will be improved upon.

Nice convincing win in a place that usually gives us headaches. Also I'm glad Can't knocks off Ohio to even things up a bit in the conference. I don't want anyone running away with this except us. It makes Wednesday's game a bit more special.

This game SCARES me. This is such a trap game with Can't being next. Usually when I have a bad feeling my gut is right.

I know the athletic department is a pain in the behind but we cannot stop supporting our team. Starting Wednesday, both sides will be opened up and they better be full of Rowdies. The fact that we barely filled up one side at the Nevada game is absolutely pathetic and it totally justified what the athletic department did. If the students show up in overwhelming numbers then the department has no choice but to get the Rowdiest students down there, This is a very important week and we need to forget about this crap going on in the department and give Can't hell on Saturday. I want to give my team a home court advantage, and I want us in the field of 64 come March. But right now we do not have grounds for complaint because nobody shows up during winter break.So my response is show up or shut up!Oh and I was down by the band and they totally sat on their hands. If they are not going to make any noise aside from their instruments then they need to go back upstairs because on Wednesday we need as many rowdie fans down there as possible.

Miami is bad and we should win easily. Anything less will concern me. Can't, dangerous as they are, are a shade of what they were last year. Hopefully they won't get it together. Miami's win wasn't that impressive over them considering that they were playing on the home floor.

I agree with the penguin. Adding another road game is formula to wear out our team. I'm very disappointed we are making the same mistake again. Having to play OSU is bad enough. We should probably have a 1-AA school that allows us to possibly sit our starters if the score allows and it would give us another home game.

All five of our starters average over 12 points a game. Akron has one player averaging double-digits (Romeo). I don't care if you hate Bubba, but at least get your facts straight. We played an easy schedule and went very deep on the bench most of the time. If you're just looking at the starting 5, then its probably not going to tell you much. Maybe all five of your starters average double digits, but our bench contributes just as much as our starters. They are doing a lot of the scoring too. We shuffle it around a lot, and Bubba never wanted to be on the bench. You're system suits him more and even Dambrot said so.

The reason Bubba looks so great at Ohio is because Akron is not about one player. It's about spreading it around and playing team basketball. Some nights Ced does the most. Soetimes it is Dru, and sometimes Dials gets hot on the perimeter. That is how we play. We count on everybody to step up. I don't want skinny little Bubba back. I never was a fan. The Rowdies better be all over him from tipoff to buzz.

OU as a whole probably has the most arrogant, classless fans of the MAC. Miami's are just arrogant. Can't's are just stupid. As a whole, OU's fans seem to posess a little bit of Can't and Miami. There are a lot of good ones like the ozone poster but for some reason OU is very easy to dislike. The zips will return the favor in the friendly confines of the JAR, and in the meantime we'll take out our frustrations on the sweaters on Thursday.

I wouldn't worry too much about student turnout. Remember that we have played piss poor opponents aside from Nevada. We've had some really boring OOC games. Plus we are still on winter break and naturally there will be few students around. Look for a big pickup once classes start. You know who comes to the JAR when the semester begins and that is a great way to kick things off. The students will really show once we start playing well known MAC rivals.

I don't think we should upset with Walther transfering to OU. Why are we so hostile to a player like Bubba that arguably has become the best player OU has. Actually I'm kinda glad he transfered, it freed up a spot on the roster, and he is arguably the best player OU has, which makes me that much more appreciative of Dru, Dials, and Cedric. Too bad we don't have another player of Walther's caliber to send to OU. No disrespect. Seriously. But his name is Bubba (white trash) and have you seen him lately (Proactiv)? Just a simple observation, no disrespect. Wonder if they are feeding him over there in Ohio?? He definitely could have used a few visits to Robs here in Akron.

Wow all I can say is Boise State has really stole the show this bowl season and has shown that Cinderella teams can make their mark in college football. Many are saying the Fiesta Bowl was the greatest college game witnessed, and it even stole some of the luster of the OSU/Florida matchup. Of course its our dream to one day see Akron in a BCS bowl or any other MAC school for that matter. It seems that everyone in the nation pulls for the little guy. What would it take and can it be done?? A team would surely have to go undefeated and that means defeating formidable big ten opponents on the road at the start of the season and we all know how hard that is. I'm sure the new facilities and new stadium complex will increase our potential as a program. We're holding our own with the worst stadium in the MAC right now.
