Wow!!!! This must be what it’s felt like to play Akron over the last few years 😂
-
Hell yeah!!! These boys deserved this. Finish strong!

Playing 2nd, 3rd, 4th stringers all over the place. They got to a point in the middle of the year where they started to shut a lot of people down they were so banged up.

Ugly drop, but we’ll take any lead we can get. I think I see why Joe didn’t go after Sperling, Wiley is the guy. I like the future with what we’re seeing, albeit against a team currently tanking.

Man, what is it with punts killing us this year?!

I’m talking about both QBs today. Guess which one is moving the ball too? Man we’re bad. Ugh.

This dude is barely a step up from Alex Ramart

The short yardage strategy of this coaching staff ain’t it

Had surgery to repair a badly dislocated/separated shoulder. Tough break as he was trying to make the play, but it sure was ugly. I believe in DJ, but he should have a short leash next year if his issues aren’t resolved.

Hoping he’ll be ready in time for spring practice. It’s Undercuffler’s ship for the last 2.

I see no bigger game on the CFB schedule with a team wearing red playing a team who wears navy blue. All eyes on Dekalb!

By kickoff tomorrow it will be 17 full days that we’ve gone without watching them in the middle of the season. It’s going to feel kind of weird to watch. Hopefully time off worked in a positive way instead of causing a rust buildup.

Said he hurts for the guys. Some really costly, small mistakes once they had the lead at the U4 TO. Loved what he got from Tavari (duh). Correctly stated they outplayed Nevada, gave them props for hitting some really tough shots. *** I am disappointed not to get the win because they did play well enough, it’s just a make or miss game. Hankerson wide open layup, numerous open 3s, X mid rangers not even close. Tough shooting week for sure. But stellar defense. My back-breaking play of the day was the big 3 that NV hit after the Zips ran a beautiful full-court trap. Then a couple crazy ones in the dying moments. Props to them for making the plays. The Zips flat out pee’d down their leg. No two ways about it. BUT! They finished in the top half of a great field, and played pretty well all week. If you bank on Hunter and Hankerson shooting 30%+ on the year, you have to feel good about the offense. Doesn’t get any easier next week with Marshall. Zips could be looking at a 3-4 record here before long. They’re further along than last year at this point, but I truly see more potential here. PS: Dawson is missed greatly. Could you imagine an opponent facing a lineup with he and Nate Johnson at the same time? Would be sweet. Go Zips!

Kent blows it at CofC. Not all is lost today!

Zips on their way to another win, leading this one wire to wire so far. I’m very impressed so far, and surprised. Hopefully they can make a splash in MAC play.

Toledo crawls its way to a 7th place finish in the Estero tournament, just like the Zips last year. Perhaps time to bet Toledo to win in Cleveland? 😂 EMU is getting run out of the gym by Winthrop in Cancun. I can't help but laugh. I fully believe EMU will be one of the teams to beat in this league come January, but seeing them start 1-5 is hilarious. Their fans thought they would be the best thing since sliced bread right out of the gate, and ZERO D1 wins before Thanksgiving has slapped them in the face. The season can be a long drag no matter the talent and expectations, as they are learning.

NIU was poised to be back in the MAC title game. In the preseason, they lost WR1 to injury. Then against Kentucky QB1 went down. A key piece to the rushing attack transferred out after last year. They did go on the road and dominate EMU, but I think they chose that game as the final time they would play to win in 2022, as they tossed out Rocky Lombardi and ran all over the Eagles. They’re now starting a QB that was average at best in high school, and they’ve shut down a lot of important players. The Zips’ biggest opponent this week is themselves. Rust from a couple weeks off could be a factor, but if they were ever going to get an FBS win this year, I like their chances here. I would take the 10 points. Hopefully Undercuffler comes ready and prepared.
