Per 247, no stars, only other offer is BGSU. I googled his HUDL tapes, and it seems to show him as a RB for about half of the tape. The rest of the tape as a CB is OK, but not impressive. Here's to trusting the coaching staff. Waiting for catdaddyp's analysis. Go Zips!!!

If I looked at it correctly, this kid is going to be a freshman this fall. (please comment if I am incorrect). Already has offers from Eastern Kentucky and Georgia Tech. This coaching staff is recruiting for years out like the elite P5 schools recruit. Keep this staff together and the future is bright. If I am correct, he needs to be the first listing in the Class of 26 offers. In Joe We Trust!!!

Thomas makes 40 recruits for this year. I know there are some walk-ons, but how is it possible to sign this many players. I cannot believe there are that many grey shirt recruits. Please, no speculation but facts on how it is possible to sign this many players. In Joe We Trust!!!!

Do you mean being in the rotation or playing at all, and true freshman or redshirts? I took a look through the roster and I don't see an avenue for a true freshman to be in the rotation on D or O barring multiple injury hits to any given position. LZlp referenced D or O, so I responded appropriately. The initial thread was 2 deep defense, but like most other threads, the topic tends to vary a bit as the comments progress. Please read the posts before making your reply. Go Zips!!!

This is a good thing if freshmen are not immediately put in the starting lineup. We will finally have upperclassmen leading the way giving the frosh a chance to learn and develop. However, I see the possibility of freshmen Kilbane, Golden or Clark seeing playing time this year. But, only Golden is a true freshman so I think the analysis above may be accurate. Go Zips!!!

I see that there are no replies to this very thought provoking post. For the most part, I cannot agree or disagree with the 2 deep since I have not been present at the spring practices and may not possess the skills to evaluate all of the positions. I do not believe that fans can put together an accurate 2 deep depth chart without in depth knowledge of what is going on in the practices. Based on pure speculation and reading the signing clips of the players, I think this analysis is pretty good. Based on past performances, I do seriously question the WDE and WILL two deep persons listed above. The remainder may work, we shall see. In Joe We Trust!!!!

One more data point that we are not good at QB. Here's to hoping that Undercuffler can step and get the University of Akron QB into a much higher tier than 22. Go Zips!!!!

However, when I click on your link, a Twitter page comes up for a short period of time before it did not allow me to see the page, and I saw 3 years of eligibility and he got a 3rd FBS offer from Stephen Austin. However, I think Stephen Austin is returning to FCS level this year, not FBS. Please advises if read it wrong. I am always excited to get another big and good DL. Per 247, I only see another offer from Louisiana Tech. I did not see any FCS offers so please let me know the FCS offers and source. Also, trying to figure out if he has 1 or 2 years of eligibility left. Need some tough DL that have more than 1 year of eligibility to transition to the recruits.

Highlights provided little excitement. Limited speed in his routes and minimal YAC. Does not live up to the skill sets of the other recruits. I hope he turns out to be ultra successful. Go Zips!!!

I do not think this is the right place for this post, so I am asking a moderator to move to its rightful place. I commented in the QB preview that we are down to 3 QBs on the roster with Undercuffler being the fourth. Need more depth at this critical position. . Kickers - Only Smigel PK and Romenick K are on the roster, glad we have 3 recruits in Gettman, Paxos, and Perez. OLB - looking at the Gozips roster, it looks like the numbers are down, but I cannot name the reductions. ILB and S - again, it looks like the numbers are down, but I cannot name reductions. Although no Zip has showed up in the Transfer Portal, it looks like roster reductions have begun. This is great news to shed the non D1 players from the roster. Go Zips!!!!

If you look at the roster, we are down to 3 QB''s, Irons, Jankowski, and Jennings. Undercuffler raises the number to 4. If you look at FBS rosters, most schools have more than four scholarship QB's. I think we are playing with fire with this number of QB's. As everyone in sports says, QB is the most important position in all of sports. Coach JoeMo - help me trust we are good with these numbers.

I found the following and I am not sure it is 100% correct, so please provide accurate information if you find it is not accurate. 2019 - Like I said above, 41 TD passes. 2020 - Albany did not play football because of COVID. 2021 - Albany Played 11 games, Undercuffler pllayed 10 games with 8 TD passes and 7 ints. Went 2-9. It looks like they were sharing QB duties. I do not know why, injury, less talented WR's, loss of talent, etc. Summary - based on the 41 TD passes, he is worth looking at. Go Zips!!!

He threw for 41 TD passes in 2019 and looked fantastic, even for a FCS program. Limited play in 2020 and 2021. I found one website that shows he played some in both 20 and 21. The link in this post shows 3 games over 2 years. He had the Covid season and must have gotten a red shirt year. I will do some more research in the next day or so to understand his limited playing and reduction in statistics. Based on 2019, he would be a good pickup. Need to get more data from the last two years.

However, this commit looks questionable. We are this late in the signing process and he has no other offers is a red flag to me. I hope there are reasons that he is still available and turns out to be a good signing.

I now believe that our WR losses of Qualls, Mumpfield, and Mathison has been completely bested with the additions of Louis, Adams, and Jones. That does not include Golden or the TE additions. The receiving corps will be greatly improved. In Joe We Trust!!!

Agreed. Glad he chose to go elsewhere. If Akron offered him, my trust in Coach JoeMo will start to be reduced.
