AkronMBA811
Just wanted to add I read on Tom Dienhart's (Rivals writer) twitter: "In addition to Rob Ianello, Akron interviewed Wayne State's Paul Winters; Elon's Pete Lembo; Kansas' Ed Warinner; Arizona's Mark Stoops." scottditzen
This post reminds me.....OUR HELMETS ARE AWESOME.Brief Ohio.Com article (presumably Gaffney). And just for Dr. Z:He also wants to play a 4-3 defensive scheme. It is sad that I'm happy about that comment, but I am. Choosing the proper scheme is step ONE of ten that Rob has to do to have a dominating defense at Akron. Good luck, I like his start.PS He looks good in that cap.

MDZip
[edit-add]BTW, GP1, I'm sure you don't see it this way, but I think that the sign is a tribute to you.Don't focus on it's negative aspect. I understand why it was made. Frankly, your style hasn't always been my favorite either. But I am jealous that got a sign made to you. I got no sign, and if smart guy makes me one, it certainly wont get used often.
Lee Adams
Huge disappointment. I'm officially checking out on my alma mater. Cancel my season tickets and you will no longer see me posting on ZipsNation. We've been given everthing to go big time and once again we go small time on our head coach. I'm done. Look forward to six more seasons of mediocrity until the school can afford to fire this guy and start the process all over again. I'm done. I guess I'll just pick a BCS school that I like and go with them. It's a shame Tom when you can't even keep the guys who donned the GOD DAMN UNIFORM with the stupidity you display.its called the 'good ol boys network'...sometimes it works...often it doesn't...its like working anywhere...including a govt. job...if you know somebody you will get hired whether you deserve it or not...BUT...this guy gets his chance like everybody else...judge him after the season is over... zipsbandman
This thread needed to be bumped. Fun reading the posts when icoach was hired. It's sad when a bunch of internet posters could have made a better choice than a guy paid handsomely to do so. No more Notre Dame rejects......it drives me crazy reading how icoach will bring in 5th year rejects that will come save the day. We need to get rid of TW and icoach before they can do any more damage.

I know some of you guys say RI is arrogant. Well, I've never met him, but he's never impressed me that way. I feel so sorry for the guy. To me he seems like a really nice guy, who is just in woefully over his head. Watching this video is so depressing on a few different levels. [edit]: I've just got to keep reminding myself that the UA has made him a millionaire. There are lots of other people I should probably feel much more sorry for. Sometimes I say some things I don't mean in the midst of my fury at watching utter incompetence reign at this University. Of course I could never check out on my alma mater though. I'll be right here to suffer through it with the rest of you until maybe, one day, we finally get it right around here.

ITZ, I appreciate seeing your informed posts once again on ZN.o. You and I had a few disagreements back when you were regularly posting here before. But I think ZN.o is a better place with your regular contributions, and hope you stay active here.

Dave is not always reasonable 2. Not all appreciate that he tries to be 3. Neither Dave nor you are always right...but you have rational, well thought out opinions and often times from an informed point of view. I respect and look for posts from you both although I don’t always agree. But...what the heck...you guys probably know you are wrong from time to time
MrAkronSoftball
Accountability comes from the top. It starts with Wistrcill and works it way on down to the head coaches. I have not seen that in two bad seasons of Akron football.
GP1
For the record, the more I learn about Rob, the more I like about this hire. I don't believe this to be a reach at all, I think he brings some qualities to UA that will help improve the Zips, and I look forward to watching his impact on the Zips, both on and off the field.Would you like to go on record some more?
