Trickle down effect now goes to the MWC, C-USA, WAC and MAC as TV games align. Thanks fo the heads up In looking at Syracuse's schedule, I see that they are currently slated to play 5 teams with golden helmets (UA, Washington, USF, Pitt and BC) with one opponent still TBA. Of course, USF could always throw a monkey wrench into this diabolical scheme by choosing to play in one of their optional (green or white I believe) helmets. I know, I know......aside from hoops this is a slow time of the year.

Our athletes want and deserve to Be On The Big Stage. I know that our players crave to be on that Big Stage like a fat lady craves chocolate. We've got the makings for a stellar future. We, the ZN can't be afraid of the Big Stage. In 2011 give me 3 top tier BCS teams. We are not afraid. We are here because we want to make our mark at UA on a D1 level football team. Playing on the Big Stage is the first step to leaving a well-deserved new legacy of ZIPS Football Pride. We Can Do It. We're Not Afraid. Bring It On!GO ZIPS! Blue & Gold
Thanks dreal! The whole psyche of ZN's been in the crapper since the CJ incident and the subsequent godawful loss to Indiana last year. It feels good to begin to have that enthusiasm again! Putting 5 or 6 power conference teams on a basketball schedule would be less of an impact on the entire season than 3 BCS teams in football. RACER
i totally agree bring on three bcs teams.of course we just built a new stadium; so none of the games will be played there.start the season 0-3,and have about 15,000 fans opening day.then have about 5,000 fans for every game after that.this team has hadthree losing seasons in a row.they need to win games not get pounded by bcs teams.im am glad you are not the a.d. of akron. Putting 5 or 6 power conference teams on a basketball schedule would be less of an impact on the entire season than 3 BCS teams in football. It's all about percentages. The football team plays 75% of their OOC games against BCS level teams. It is killiing the program. The basketball team should in no way do the same thing. They should in no way also continue to hide from good ooc competition by playing the Malones of the world (twice) and beef up their schedule. They can only hide for so long. Reality needs to happen sooner rather than later.

xu9697
So, from the season ticket package, we know the 6 home games:Syracuse, Gardner-Webb, Northern Illinois, Western Michigan, Miami and Buffalo. Not too shabby. I'm very hopeful for 4-2 record at home (tough loss to SU, loss to Northern). And we know 3 road games are Kentucky, Indiana and Can't.3 left, then dates. It would be nice to miss Central having Northern on the schedule (and assuming we probably will go to Temple). Temple, Northern Ill, and Central seem to be the favorites going into next year. ZachTheZip
I was hoping we get Central. They'll be lucky to get four wins next season.I think we play OU on the road and skip Temple.

Looks like I might be in for a trip to the Liberty Bell after all
