I'm just embarrassed that we are still doing our coach's show at a place that just painted their interior Red and Silver. This is Akron, not Columbus.

He's a businessman who needs to eat and pay the bills. Few Zips show up for the shows. He's a Zip fan. What would you have the guy do?

He gets a salary from the university. It is far larger than the people the University wants showing up at the games. How much do you need?

Follow the posts closer and comment again. B)

Whats your point?? If you are talking about the guy who runs the restaurant,I'll bet he brings in more than me and a whole lot of others who go to the games.

I get it. I'm not saying the guy should not paint his bar whatever color he wants. I'm just embarrassed that WE are doing an AKRON ZIPS coaches show from a bar painted in Ohio State colors.

Poor guy. I'd recommend that he go for the bucks to feed his starving family if painting his restaurant silver and red makes the difference between survival and going out of business.

I'd further recommend that UA look for another location for the show that's not so desperate to stay in business that it has to resort to overtly disrespecting the Zips in their own backyard by tarting up the establishment in the colors of a distant rival.

Is it really? That is weak as hell. Why is the UA coaches show done there?

Just more lousy thinking by the UA aports and marketing depts.

sometimes I think people think Akron is a suburb of Columbus

Dear iCoach,

It's rivalry week. I know you're still new here, but can you complete the phrase "Can't read, can't write, _____ _____"?

Also, do you know what circular object must remain on the UA campus at all costs?

Did anybody listen to the show???

I listened to it, on and off, while I was doing a few other things. He gave an immediate and emphatic "NO" to whether they've considered switching Carter back to safety (although, he left a tiny crack open in the door by ending it with "never say never" and "if injuries started to accumulate" etc.). He thinks Holmes did OK in his 1st start at corner. He mentioned the interception for a TD was the product of a receiver running the wrong route (not PN7's fault). He gave general, (near) mid-season grades to all of the positions, but it seemed to me like he was pretty generic in his assessments. Among the players he seemed to be the most pleased with are Bailey, Wagner, Thomas, Allen, and Burney (in no certain order). He talked about K.E.N.T. a little, but he didn't offer up anything we don't already know. He was familiar with their personnel by name. I probably missed a few things, and perhaps someone else can fill in the rest.

So no ZN questions were asked?

One that I forgot: Coach I watch team after team that run a pro style offense use the TE to move the chains, do we have TE's that catch the ball, do we send them out in routes, does PN7 have enough check downs if coverage is tight down field? I'll hang up and listen to your answer....

The one about Carter was asked. I missed some of the show so maybe I also missed a few other ZN questions. IIRC, the host identified a period of the show as one in which "e-mail" or "internet" (not sure about these terms) questions would be asked (no specific mention on ZN by name, although he may have said message board).

Now that I reread through this thread, not a lot of good questions anyway.

Here is a note for Fox 1350 Guy - If you use our message board as supporting material for your show, you give our message board due credit on the show.

I can't believe the guy would enter a specific request via a post, asking for help from our members, then not mention "ZipsNation.Org" as a source on the show. It can't be true. No one lacks that sort of ethics.

I probably should have said that I didn't happen to catch any specific mention of ZN by name. Like I mentioned before, I wasn't listening full-time.

The colors are red and silver, but it isn't for OSUcks. A waitress told us it is for Tom Ripper or something like that who is a rock and roll person. I don't know. I still don't think I like the idea.

Also, I know I'm late, but if they ever want to come back and look at this, here's my question.

Yo, Coach I. We suck. Why?

And here's the story that was published on Ohio.com today.

Ripper Owens to relaunch Tap House restaurant on Waterloo Road

October 5, 2010 by jim Leave a Comment Filed under: Dining, Featured 2 Tagged with

Ripper Owens (former Lead Singer of Judas Priest and current solo artist) has partnered with restaurateur Randy Arehart to relaunch the current Tap House on Waterloo Road in Akron. The change happens on Oct. 16 when the restaurant becomes a “rockin sports eatery” named “Ripper Owens Tap House.”

The restaurant remains open while currently serving thousands a week during the transformation into a Rock-n-Roll sports museum. The restaurant has retained the services chef Jay Saulsberry, who has helped in the process of re-designing a family friendly menu with a strong emphasis on serving a high volume lunch and dinner crowd.

With the combination of the rock and sports memorabilia, the guests will be encouraged to take a tour of the new Ripper Owens Tap House and to join the trademarked “World Tour of Wings

Bill Morgan was on his game again tonight ... way to chuck those marshmallow questions at iCoach.

What a waste of a half-hour.

iCantCoach mentioned that he gets home early enough on Thursday nights to eat with the family and break away from recruiting calls to head upstairs to be with the kids when it's bedtime ...

"Oh iDaddy, won't you read just one more thread from ZipsNation? PLEASE?!? We especially like the Captain's Blog series and can't wait to see how it turns out this year!"

Literally, LOL.

Beautiful. This needs trademarked before Apple gets a hold of it.
