Captain Kangaroo
No good coach can go 0-12 with a MAC schedule. Even Owens went 2-9 after taking over Faust's 1-10 train wreck.
Zip_ME87
Although you can't spell DOUCHEBAG without OU, I don't look for the kitties to lose. Akron 10 OU 31 JZ's avatar is great.
Zipmeister
There has been a substantial push to break that culture over the past few years and here we sit at the bottom. I respectfully disagree. Our efforts have been in building facilities assuming they would lead to winning. Nobody ever said, "How fast will this new stadium run the 40 yard dash?" or "Can the field actually catch a ball?" What we haven't invested in is the support staff to recruit and retain at risk kids who are extremely talented. There has been some increase, but not enough. When JD got bit by issues such as this, he retreated to what Faust did and brought in less talented players. No one may have asked these questions, but we certainly know the answer to the second one by now. The field can catch most of the balls thrown by our QB. The answer to the first question may not be as obvious, but if you include the rotation of the Earth, the answer is "pretty darn fast". GoZips88
No way again this week ... Akron 13 OU 38 On the other hand, Caleb's well-coached, very talented, and highly confident soccer squad will toast Western Michigan later in the day at home ... WMU 0 Akron 5 Isn't Men's Soccer playing Buffalo tomorrow? D.I.G. brings up a good point about rooting against Ianello. Regardless of the situation, I could never root against the Zips. But at some point, an iCoached team needs to pick up a W to soothe the diehards, even if just for a week. The longer we have to wait, the more unlikely it will seem to us that a turn-around ochestrated by him will ever occur. Enough specualtion. Go Zips!!! Beat the Kitties!!! Why ... yes indeed they do. Looked at the WMU schedule to double-check and still had it wrong by a week. Thanks JZ. Same score ... Bulls 0 Zips 5.

I have been an OU fan since the late 1970s, and throughout the 80s and 90s experienced some truly horrendous football. Nevertheless, I usually made it to games and usually had some level of optimism that my team could "put it all together" and win the contest. In that spirit, and because it's supposed to be a beautiful autumn day, with the leaves reaching their peak in southern Ohio, I encourage you to take a very fun and pretty road trip to see your team. You can undoubtedly find someone to sell you their extra tickets for $5 or $10 outside the stadium. There is excellent tailgating there. The downtown bars and restaurants are prodigious. Since it's homecoming, the Marching 110 will be parading all over the place. Hate OU or not (and I know many of you hate the school), go support your team and have a helluva good time outdoors on a Saturday afternoon. It's only a game...and you never know, the Zips could surprise you and ruin my weekend. 2.75 hour drive each way...well worth the trip, regardless of your team's performance to date. Haven't seen anything this year or the last 4-5 years that shows a corner being turned towards successful thinking in the football program. This is going to take awhile ZN. Wasn't that the same year we won AT Army and Syracuse (Kenny rant)? Zips Win, if we win today, we may start kidnapping you on game day. This season feels like an eternity. Also, LaFrance is out indefinitely due to a PCL sprain.
scottditzen
I assume I'm once again the winner of another meaningless zipsnation contest! OU cheerleaders will sprain their MCL's from carrying that scroungy cat flag around after every TD. Akron 9 Ohio 38 p.s. Zips will keep it close for the first 5:00. According to sportsbook.com, OU is favored by 17. Feel free to predict the outcome of the game below.

Unfortunately we weren't able to keep it close for even your modest, tongue-in-cheek prediction of 5-minutes. 1st 4 OU Possessions: 1 - TD 2 - TD 3 - FG 4 - TD Can anyone begin to fathom the travesty that we have to play The University of Columbus next year?! O, the humiliation.
GP1
1st 4 OU Possessions: 1 - TD 2 - TD 3 - FG 4 - TD Can anyone begin to fathom the travesty that we have to play The University of Columbus next year?! O, the humiliation. The only way it could get worse is if in the third possession they score a TD in lieu of a FG. It's only a four point swing going from 24 to 28 points.
