Look for an area HS coach to be named as a new assistant.
Is this, your source of information? Will you ever let anyone on this forum consider a source for your information?

That is one of my sources. Nobody asked me for it, so I didn't post it. It's no secret that Green local is in dire straights and there is animosity towards paying a football coach, or that one of our recruits was a star player under him.

If you want a source for anything I say, all you have to do is ask.

The reason I post rumors (and I always try to mark them as such) is because I like discussion, and this is a discussion board. So why not discuss the pros and cons of such a move, or alternative moves? Maybe somebody hits on a great idea that the athletic department can then steal. Or, we can just sit here and endlessly complain about LeBron and OSU and wait for an official announcement that won't come until six months after the fact.

I thought you learned your lesson when you posted that PN7 broke his ankle?

For the umpteenth time, if you post a rumor, just post "I read a rumor on (provide link) that this coach is coming to Akron." Now the reader realizes that it is a rumor and where it comes from.

Interesting thread. There's a Root4Roo sighting to be had over there! Laying the smack down on someone who thought St. Ed's could have beaten "Akron U" this year.

Yappi is basically what JJHuddle used to be before they started charging a subscription.

Maybe DiG can do some DiGging and see about this. Green city schools are in turmoil and they might be forced to drop athletics or go pay-to-play. Their coach is Tom Stacy and he might be forced out to save on the budget. That's who I'm hearing that we're currently pursuing. One of our 2011 recruits, Dylan Brumbaugh, hails from Green.

Stacy knows the university, being our QB coach for 8 years. He knows the area, and he knows the local prospects.

Green Schools are not "in turmoil", but we are trying to pass a new levy. If the levy doesn't pass there will be some cuts of teaching positions. Tom Stacy is a Phys-ed teacher at the high school. Phys-ed is a required course, you have to take it in order to graduate. Most likely, the teaching positions that are eliminated will be for elective courses not required for graduation. He could possibly be bumped by someone with more tenure, but the other 2 phys-ed teachers currently have less tenure than Stacy. I guess its possible that Stacy mat want to get back into coaching at the collegiate level, but I haven't heard anything that would make me think that was true. Stacy has worked hard to improve Green's football program and the results of those labors are just starting to pay off. I would be surprised if he left, but anything is possible. I'll check around and see if there is any truth to this rumor and report back.

ps; I find it humorous that every time I use spell check on a quoted post involving Zac, it wants me to change Zach's name to Schlep!;)

Footballscoop is saying that Mike Haywood is trying to get our Offensive Coordinator and TE coach John Latina to follow him to Pitt.

Please take him. I saw nothing out of him last season that showed any glimmer of creativity. Good luck at Pitt. Bye Bye.

If a guy is a good coach, it doesn't matter if he was a head coach or not prior to getting a MAC job. A good coach is a good coach regardless.

The funny thing about this hiring is it can prove the people who think you should hire a coach with lower level head coaching experience both wrong and right. The guy was successful at Miamioh contrary to this opinion. If he goes on to Pitt and wins, it will prove the opinion to be correct because he had experience coaching at a lower level school. It's funny how things can turn out.

No official word yet on our OC John Latina moving to Pitt. If he really is gone, it's in our best interest to announce it and begin finding a replacement immediately. The less confusion our recruits have about who will be coaching them, the better.

At any rate, here is the story of JD Brookhart.

I can only hope Latina is gone. I know PeeWee football coaches with a more creative playbook and far better playcalling.

K.E.N.T. State announces its new coach on Monday. They've screwed it up again, naturally. But it'll be better than what Akron's saddled with.

Miami, OH will still reap the rewards, in all likelihood. There seems to be more brainpower on that campus.

New Can't coach is Darrel Hazel.

Your program needs to move away from your Asst HC. I know him very well. He is not the person he comes across as. I have no axe to grind, but thetruth will set me free.

The one from Georgetown?

Michigan fans seem to think our DC is leaving to become their new secondary coach.

If true, I have two comments:

1) Thank you, Curt, for sticking it out through the recruiting season. I mean that.

2) We already have another coach on this side of the ball who has been a successful coordinator. Maybe the best move would be to promote from within.

Edit: This link serves two purposes. First, UM already has a DC under Hoke in Greg Mattison. Second, we lost out on Glenville TE Frank Clark to the Wolverines.
