Blue & Gold
From what I'm hearing, after this successful recruiting weekend, the staff may actually be "slow playing" more than a few guys they've been recruiting... They are pretty confident that they're getting some guys they really want, and so some of the guys who are "verbally committed" may not actually have received actual scholarship offers from us to begin with. Sweeeeeet! You say, "recruiting weekend." So the men's b-ball game had something to do with it?

ZachTheZip
Signing day is Feb 1st, next Wednesday. I started this thread to see where the players we recruited ended up, and to discern the recruiting patterns of a coach who is no longer employed here or recruiting for us. I saw how he operated and this thread served its purpose. I'll be a bit more organized with the 2013 class. But as for this thread, I am deleting the section where it listed which schools players chose over us. It is no longer relevant and it's become too unwieldy when I try to edit things. So I'm only keeping the uncommitted players that we have offered, along with the list of verbals. It's a new era of Zips recruiting. Time for a fresh start. I'm sorry if for whatever reason somebody wanted to know that a kid went to NC State or whatever and now they can't find it. But I need to tighten my focus as we get to "crunch time" in the recruiting world.
Zip Watcher
Great job Zach. One thing I'd recommend for next year is to make 2 replies to your first post right away so you have the next 2 posts reserved for future use if you need them. I've seen that on sites like XDA where the topic changes frequently over a period of time. Might help to have a couple of place holder posts available for your own use. I had thought of doing that about an hour after I posted the 2013 thread. By then it was too late but I learned a lot from this thread and it should be easier to keep things organized and simplified going forward. g-mann17
Coach Bowden was spotted at Green HS today. Senior WR Andrew Pratt is still available. Looks to have good football speed, like his size, like how he catches the ball. He will have to work on his route running, it's much to rounded off and sloppy. That suggests agility issues (stopping and starting speed changes). I say go get him, bare minimum he becomes an excellent possession receiver because he could keep the smaller MAC DB's away from his body and make the catches. AKSportsFan
Pratt is way under the radar because that was his I believe first or second year playing football.... he's a basketball guy.

Zipgrad01
Get him working with our new S&C coach, John Grieco and feed the boy He has a nice frame and athleticism for a guy that is 6'5. Put 30 pounds on him and he would be a beast at TE.
AKSportsFan
...and he is 6'5 none of this add an inch or two. It was very fun watching him play this last year for Green (didn't miss a game)

NewZipsFan
We already have verbals from 3 running backs. Wonder why we're going after another? I said in a post a day or so ago, that just because someone was a verbal, didn't necessarily mean that they would be getting an offer. Some of those verbals were from the previous staff - and I'm thinking that CTB and staff may have found other players they like better? Just thinking out loud.... ZachTheZip
High school RBs are generally versatile athletes. They play that position because their coaches want the ball in the hands of their best athletes. They could switch to LB, catch passes, or play special teams. johnnyzip84
Ianello started recruiting this guy a while ago and finally Jason Stargel Jr is visiting UA this weekend. My bet is he'll commit (Furman seems to be the other school in play).
