mes102
I didn't see a thread for the game yet, and it's tomorrow night, so I thought maybe we should bring it up. So who's all taking the trip down to Athens? Here's what the people at OU nation are saying... http://www.bobcatattack.com/messageboard/t...1&PID=23730
MDZip
Gotta admit I'm a worried about this one. OU is on a roll as well and they have a couple of tough recent road wins, over Buffalo and Can't. Zips are playing very well but it's mostly been home cooking. Much as I hate to say it, I think the Zips lose a close one in Athens. Please prove me wrong.
Captain Kangaroo
Such a big game that CK may indeed grace OU's campus for the 1st time in about 16 years?!
mes102
Such a big game that CK may indeed grace OU's campus for the 1st time in about 16 years?! I know there's a few students trying to carpool there...I'm still debating whether to skip my first class of this semester(Psychology at 6:40-7:55), to go to this game or not... Dr Z
I'm hoping our coaching staff game plans defending differently than they did on Jan 12th. Dave in Green
In their last meeting, the Zips appeared not to know how to deal with the Bobkitties' aggressive, attacking offense and defense. They've since shown that they are more poised and confident against this style of play. Buffalo played a similar aggressive, attacking style, and the Zips didn't fold under pressure. That was a good tuneup game. Any team can have an off night at any time and lose a game. But I'm not as worried about the Zips not being able to match up against the Bobkitties. If the Zips continue to play the way they have been recently, they make this their 20th win of the season and set up a potential MAC East championship showdown with Can't. OU embarassed the Zips at the JAR. Time to return the favor.
jem101
Please tell me that OU will have a video feed of this one! Half tempted to drive down there for the biggest game all season. Driving six hours for a 2.5 hour game on a school night with gas being way to expensive, all adds up to hopefully settling for a video feed. Can't wait and Go Zips! Let'sGoZips94
Such a big game that CK may indeed grace OU's campus for the 1st time in about 16 years?! I am going with a few Rowdies. First time ever trip to O-Who. I'm so pumped. I think Akron is playing the best basketball out of any MAC school. I think we will beat the Bobkittens tomorrow night, making it 8 in a row and clinching that first round bye. Akron 79 O-Who
originalrowdy
O-Who can't rebound and their defense is speculative at best. While their offense is clicking, it'll take more than scoring to top a blue hot Zips team. Even in the Convo, Zips come out on top. Akron 67 O-Who

OU embarassed the Zips at the JAR. Time to return the favor. The only HUGE difference being that the Buffalo game was an HOME. With the exception of maybe BG, have we played a good game all year against a team of any substance on the road? This is our chance to show that our recent improved play can sustain itself in front of a hostile crowd. Let's face it. Besides our recent hot streak, everything might be stacked against us in this one... Playing in a place that's been tough for us in the past. Playing in front of potentially a huge road crowd. Playing against a team that beat us badly at home. Playing against a team that has actually gotten better since they beat us badly at home. I said back in January that I think we're just a bad matchup against these guys. The key will be to withstand any scoring runs from OU that bring the crowd squarely into the game. We won't win this game if we get cold enough or make enough mistakes to allow any 10-0 scoring runs. If we can avoid that, and both McNees and McKnight are in double digits, we have a chance to keep the crowd out of the game, and make a few plays at the end to pull it out. If we win this game with any breathing room, I'll definitely be convinced that we've made a dramatic transformation in the last few weeks that extends beyond simply feeling comfortable at home. Here is what I sent: Hi I am an Akron grad (Buchtel College BA 1971) and I live in New York. I am just wondering why we can't get good video feeds for our mens basketball team? The University never hesitates to ask me for donations. Keep me as a fan. Let me see the games. I will post any response
