That's a tad nippy for Miami.

I think the Zips will win by 14, but I will give the points when I communicate with Al the Book.

Just think, a few short years ago, anyone except maybe the top few teams in the SunBelt were beatable. And none of them were world beaters. Today, we're a 20 point underdog at HOME to a Sun Belt team that may not even be the best team in the conference.

The GREAT news. Saturday is looking to be a fantastic day to sit outside all day, drink and eat, and watch a football game.

Believe in "The Plan." We are losing games at a breakneck pace, so we're just like Al Golden and Temple. Championships a-plenty are just around the corner.smoking-marijuana-031.gif

My wife and I took a cruise out of Miami a few years ago. When we arrived back in port the temps were around 65*. It was February and most of the locals working the docks were wearing parkas and complaining about the "bitter cold".

How many championships did Al Golden win, again? MAC East titles?

Did you really ask a question to extreme sarcasm?

I lived in Boca Raton for 13 years and was stunned when all the department stores sold winter coats and corduroy pants during the fall and winter. It seldom went below 70 in the winter. That is when I would put the top down on my Mustang :)

I believe it was/is inevitable that the Sun Belt conference would move up. That is where the people are migrating. And they don't always mind stepping over the line down there....you won't see much criticism of Miami for breaking the rules down there. Check the new census and the change in # Congressman. The south picked up 8 in the last 10 years. Can we move Akron to the south??

I am usually not this critical, and very patient when it comes to giving new coaches a chance, but Ianello is in over his head. The sooner the university cuts their losses and moves on, the better.

It will cost at least 1.5 million to do what you suggest. If we can round up 200 like minded fans, would you join in and kick in $7,500.00 to make it happen?? Obviously, if we can't get 200 like minded fans...your portion may increase. If we can find 2000....then it will only cost you $750.00. I am guessing it will be closer to the $7,500.00

You in????

Ianello is in over his head.

I see this quote a lot and I respectfully disagree. I'm sure that in many ways, Coach I is a very good professional at what he does. For instance, I'm pretty sure he knows how to coach the offense he wants to run. I'm philosophically against what he is trying to do with the offense but that doesn't make him in over his head.

When people say, "in over his head", it is the type of general statement that can cover a lot of area. It's sort of like when fans say, "the QB doesn't see the field"...how the Hell do they know what the QB sees unless they are sharing his eyes...

No, obviously I am not in. This is not about me or any of the fans. of course making a coaching change is a risk and will cost $$. But is a risk that must be taken. There can be a reward to this risk. That reward is in higher gate receipts, if they can bring in the right guy. Otherwise, we are stuck with garbage until his contact runs out.

This guy is very green as most MAC coaches are. Your right, I can't see into his head. I don't know what he is thinking, but the results indicate that the program is going in reverse. So far in his tenure, Akron football has gone from bottom 25% to arguably the worst in the nation. This is an embarrassment. "Maybe over his head" was the wrong choice of words, but there is no arguing that so far Ianello has been a miserable failure. I was just trying to make a point that the guy is failing without saying something hateful.

I'm ready to bet a BIG hunk of dough on FIU to cover that 21 points. With a current forecast of calm, clear skies and 81 degrees, I'm even more ready.

I've been preaching patience since the beginning of the season, but hearing the EMU(!!!!) announcers refer to Akron as a team that they SHOULD beat, has my patience waning again before the halfway point of the season. I think if we've reached our win total for the year, TW's hand is forced if it's at all fiscally possible. Maybe even with 2 wins. I think 3 wins or more, and we're safely in for a full 5 years.

Remember that a big reason why Wistercill was hired was his connection the The University of Minnesota, whom he helped sell-out their brand new outdoor stadium. It was assumed that he could bring that magic to InfoCision.

I thought about the irony, as I watched North Dakota State dominate the Golden Gophers in that same stadium a couple weeks ago.

He has certainly brought the Minnesota magic...

Just light a match. That's all it takes....
