Dr Z
LeBron James, Chris Paul, Dwyane Wade and Carmelo Anthony are going home -- and bringing friends with them. With no end to the NBA lockout in sight, the All-Star group is set to lead a four-game "Homecoming Tour," starting with a matchup in James' hometown of Akron, Ohio on Dec. 1, followed by a Dec. 4 game in New Orleans, a Dec. 7 game in Chicago and culminating with a Dec. 10 contest in East Rutherford, N.J. skip-zip
You gotta love that we have an Akronite with that kind of influence. What are the chances that an event like this would pick a handful of cities, and one of them would be AKRON ? Maybe a hundred to one ? I can't wait for the Cleveland Lebron bashers to be all over this one. LeBron. You are living up to your word as an Akron boy. We thank you. tbozeglav
was listening to a cleveland morning radio show today and they were talking about this. A few couple to point out: 1) They were encouraging people to go and heckle LeBron as much as they could. They were none too pleased that he's coming back to this area to promote himself and his buddies. Went even so far as to say some pretty spiteful stuff about lebron, though I think they were joking. Namely that they hoped he broke his ankle while playing is exhibition game here in Akron 2) They made it clear time and time again that Cleveland is not Akron and vice versa. Is it really worth the time for people to go watch a game designed to raise money for charity because they are so upset LeBron chose Miami over Cleveland? Breaks his ankle?....Pathetic. Boo a guy raising money for charity?.....Pathetic. Shame on anyone who goes to this game with this in mind.
Blue & Gold
I'm still on hold waiting for the next available "ticket specialist," because "all of our ticket specialists are currently assisting other proud Zips supporters like yourself," which, everyone on ZNO realizes, really means one guy in the ticket office who barely knows what he's doing. tbozeglav
I dont know about the rest of the greater Cleveland, and for that matter NE Ohio, but I've moved on. With the lebron & co. choking in the playoffs this past season and the current NBA lockout, I dont care one bit what he does and where. LeBron didnt get the title he said he'd get there, and now he's losing his paycheck because him and his buddies want more money. Granted he's still got endorsement paychecks, but that aside... I listen to morning radio because during my commute its usually a little bit more entertaining than listening to them spite LeBron and hate on Akron. I honestly think they are/were upset mostly due to LeBron constantly promoting AKRON and not CELVELAND, as if the city is entitled to his support or something. I don't really know why, but they seemed to think it was wrong for him to support akron and not cleveland. I laughed. Honestly, if I could, I would go to that game especially since it supports charity. If theyre not going to have an NBA season, at least use their names to help other people in the meantime. Good on them for doing that. It's most unfortunate that the entire population of Cleveland is still butt-hurt (for lack of a better term) over LeBron's decision and wish to spite him as much as they do. Art Modell? Youre damn right I'll hate that guy forever for what he did to the city. LeBron? He's just a player who went somewhere else to play with his buddies. Oh well. I just got back from the ticket office to get tickets for the Detroit game for my dad and nephew. I was the first person today not to get the "Lebron" tickets. Floor seats are sold out but they still had GA, upper and lower reserved left. 1 girl working the counter and 3 guys in the back doing nothing. I actually agreed with much of what you were saying here, except for these comments highlighted above, which may show that you have not really gotten over it yet Miami destroyed the #1 seeded Bulls, and the #3 seeded Celtics, by decisive 4-1 margins, just to get to the championship round. So, calling the "playoffs" a choke job by Miami would be wrong.

I agree, they walked over boston and chicago, but they couldn't seal the deal with Dallas when they had the chance to. Him and his "dream team" getting manhandled by Dirk was all I needed to get over him, really. It'll be interesting to see what happens with Miami post-lockout (personnel changes) to repeat a finals appearance, especially now that people know how to beat the trio. I actually give you credit for having a much more rational perspective on the whole LeBron situation than most Cleveland sports fans. And it will indeed be interesting to see how the lockout affects the makeup of the NBA.

Amazing that the floor seats are sold out and others are going fast. The folks of Akron will buy this garbage and not pony up for the Zips. Unbelievable! All for an idiot that gets us free Nike shoes. Wow...
LZIp
So with the NBA lockout being over, is the game still going to be played? Even if it is, are some of the players going to back out?

tpsjugglerdude
So with the NBA lockout being over, is the game still going to be played? Even if it is, are some of the players going to back out? At the game last night there was no reason to believe that it would not still go on. They think the later games will be cancelled on the tour but not the Akron one.
