If you see someone wearing an Akron shirt they probably went to Akron. If you see someone wearing an OSU shirt, they probably went to Wal-Mart.
Thanks, I needed a new one for the holiday season. That will work.

Arizona drops Woodson

Gateway quarterback Thomas Woodson, who committed to Arizona in June, has reopened his recruitment after his scholarship offer was pulled.

“The worst part about it: Not one of the coaches called me. They had a compliance officer call to let me know,” Gateway coach Terry Smith said. “You always hear about this kid de-committing and switching schools, but you don’t hear about what these colleges do to a kid. It’s ruined his recruitment. We had these schools come in and wouldn’t let them meet with him. We’re scrambling.”

Akron offered a scholarship Thursday to Woodson, a 6-foot-2, 225-pounder who completed 118 of 204 passes for 2,395 yards and 23 touchdowns this season. Woodson, a three-year starter, was shot in the leg during a trip to North Carolina in 2011.

“Thomas is a resilient kid,” Smith said. “He’s been through worse. I told him, ‘This isn’t as bad as it seems. You’re going to land somewhere. You just have to be patient.’ We’ve got to wait for the trickle-down, especially with all of these coaching changes. You never know.”

Rivals

Big, strong kid who stays low off the ball and is effective in the run game. Gets under defenders' pads and is a good drive blocker. In pass protection, he needs to improve his technique, particularly his footwork. Overall speed and explosion work will help his game, but he is a naturally powerful kid who has pretty solid technique in the run game. - Allen Trieu

After the Toledo loss, Bowden stated (regarding recruiting): "We need a #1. We held back jersey #1 this year because we didn't feel there was anyone who really could fill it. That's our biggest priority this recruiting season...getting us someone to wear #1."

The next morning in the PD was a feature on Kirtland's #1 Damon Washington. Coincidence?

So are we not expecting any JUCO players to commit?

I have no idea at this point. The NCAA's recruiting rules get really convoluted concerning this time of year.

This is the early signing period for JUCOs. We may not have any that will sign early, and instead will just sign during the regular period.

Also, the dead period doesn't mean that all communication ceases between coaches and recruits.
