Buckzip
The key what? I'm going to type the remainder of this note very slowly because the brain functions slowly on THC and I want you to understand what I am saying. I hate to do the job that is traditionally reserved for others on this board, but it seams as if I have to when dealing with an OU fans and their low IQ. "Key" can be a noun or adjective. In the sentence above, you use it as a noun. One more word and you would have had a sentence that made sense. OU will make a BCS game when OU girls start shaving their armpits and legs. Uh, If you are going to talk about other fans and their low IQ, you may want to learn how to spell in your post. A seam is something in your pants, or even on the football field. It seems that you have a spelling issue.

Ham
GP1, I'm so glad you sais that. I follow this board for FUN! I do have to admit that I did get riled up this week with the "half empty" group. I can take the criticism from "outsiders", but when it comes from "family", it makes me sick. Looking ahead,I don't think any outsiders give us a snowballs chance at TN. I think true believers can see a miricle in our future. No mater the outcome, I'll be at the Info on the 29th. But can you tell me in what team sport you have won a National Championship? Oh, I'm sorry you have not won any, have you??

I would not normally use this as a source, but since I know it is factual I don't have any issues. If you press control+f to search and then type in National Titles you will be able to find it quickly. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ohio_Bobcats_football

I suspect that a majority of Zips fans would happily trade the soccer NC for OU's Sweet 16 run and all of the coverage that came with it. In your heart of hearts, you know I'm right. Anyway, why the jealousy of OU? They have won some big games in B-ball and football in recent years and it has been good for the MAC. There really is no jealousy prof, we are just pointing out the overrated aspect of the football program. And what big games have they won in football? Lost the MAC Championship, beat an awful Pitt team, beat an awful Penn State, beat an overhyped Temple and beat a mediocre Marshall. Are they wins we want, yes, but they aren't marquee wins. Nobody would trade the sweet 16 run for the Soccer NC. Simple fact, we are talked about every spring, receive more national news coverage, and media coverage in general because of the Soccer program we have. OU got talked about in March for a bit, and that is about it. They will be talked about come the start of BB season and once they lose a couple, nobody will even mention them until the MAC tournament fleshes out. They will be talked about come the start of BB season and once they lose a couple, nobody will even mention them until the MAC tournament fleshes out. Sorry, but I just don't you're being honest. And OU's accomplishments got talked about a lot more than in March. Last week's Yahoo Sports and CBS Sports stories - one calling them a potential "Boise State of the Midwest" (sure, an exaggeration, but so what?) and the other saying they are a natural fit for the Big East given their success in basketball and football. (I don't think OU would have any interest in moving, BTW.) In sheer volume of coverage, March Madness success is much more significant than soccer. I don't think that's necessarily appropriate, but it's a fact. Your jealousy shows in the unwillingness to give even grudging respect to a program that has won games in the spotlight. You might say Penn State is "awful," but they are significantly stronger than they will be when the scholarship limits hit. They are bigger and stronger than most MAC teams. OU was walking into a buzz saw in that environment, but they came through. Penn State just held Navy to fewer yards than ND. I notice also that you omitted OU's bowl win - or was Utah State awful too? Even the Captain has written that OU's recent success in big games is something Akron and other MAC teams should aspire to. And I don't think other MAC fans would similarly disparage Akron's powerful soccer program. But for you I guess it's just personal. I am hoping for continued progress under Coach Bowden, but for now can appreciate what other schools have accomplished.
bigzipguy
In college sports the words : NATIONAL CHAMPIONS say a lot more that an elite 8 appearance now and then. You guys at OU did a great job in basketball in recent years, football also. BUT NOTHING MATCHES THE TWO WORDS ABOVE - PERIOD!!!!!!!!!! ZachTheZip
OU is just the flavor of the day. If they can sustain this level of success for a decade or so, then we'll talk.
you am i
Ohio will be the new Boise State when they play a Boise State schedule with Boise State's results. But not until. I'd love to see a MAC team become a serious BCS championship contender, but this talk about OU is a joke. By the way, look at the wiki entry for '1960 college football season': "The Ohio Bobcats were named number one by both the UPI and the AP in the 'small college' polls." Congratulations. Beating a Penn State team that has lost everything means nothing. And then beating Marshall and Norfolk State are not impressive at all. It's unfortunate that that I have lost a lot of respect for OhioU fans recently. It's one thing to celebrate a "win" but to be so arrogant and obnoxious about it, is an embarrassment to not only your school but the entire MAC.
