GoZips
Keep an eye on this guy, Joshua Williams, Barberton, 6-1, soph., 20.0. Rumor is we have already offered him a scholly. Second team all state as a sophomore. Akron offered Joshua Williams the first day they were allowed to. The Zips have plenty of competition for his skills. Wait 'n see. Hilltopper
Did coach Weigand graduate from his same HS? Barberton's head coach, Ken Rector, is a close friend of KD.
Blue & Gold
I've heard from a Rector (not Ken) that Joshua's little brother (currently in 8th grade) may be even better.

Blue & Gold
Wonder if we're inviting Green's Dan Fanelly to walk on? Fanelly was named D-1 1st-Team All-Ohio.

Captain Kangaroo
Marcie Alberts with her lineage and experience could be a great head coach in waiting. Let us see what Jodi Kest does in the next few weeks as she will be in demand. Coach Kest has taken a moribund program from the pits of hell to a true contender for a MAC crown. No mean feat. Kudos to coach Kest. She will be in demand at the next level (power six conference). Does she cash her chips now or stay another year and go for prize? I think it will be a good test of Wistercill's AD capabilities to lock up, or lose Kest. Like men's soccer, in the big D1 picture it is chump change to pay a good women's basketball coach. Additionally - UA has been very patient and loyal to Kest. She had some horrific seasons. Is that loyalty repaid? Stay tuned...
Hilltopper
Wonder if we're inviting Green's Dan Fanelly to walk on? Fanelly was named D-1 1st-Team All-Ohio. Dan was a late bloomer. His parents are big Zips fans and are season ticket holders. As much as I would love to see him at the JAR, he will be a great addition to the Wooster program. Blue & Gold
(I posted this in another thread, but I guess it really belongs here.) I'm listening to the Walnut Hills semi-final game. As the game was just getting under way, the announcer had this to say about Isaiah Johnson: "To give you an idea of Isaiah Johnson's size, well, you just can't over-emphasize Johnson's size. It's not just his 6'9" height, but his overall frame is just ginormous." [edit:] This announcer also said Isaiah is 6'9", 300.
Dave in Green
Isaiah may have weighed 300 pounds at one time when he was playing football, but not now. His HS coach says he lost a lot of weight prior to basketball season.

Blue & Gold
Is there an Ohio North-South All-Star game that Isaiah Johnson would likely take part in? I can't find any information on such a game.
odhgibo
Is there an Ohio North-South All-Star game that Isaiah Johnson would likely take part in? I can't find any information on such a game. The North-South game is April 21 at Capital University. The Ohio-Kentucky game is April 13 at Thomas More College. Rosters are not yet announced, but I've heard rumors that Johnson has been invited to play in this one.
