Feel free to predict score. Closest one gets bragging rights.

Two mid-major programs whose success this year cost each of them their head coaches will meet up in the second-to-last bowl game of the season. The matchup between Can't State from the Mid-American Conference (MAC) and Arkansas State from the Sun Belt Conference also represents the first game between the two schools, although it’s the Red Wolves’ second straight appearance in the GoDaddy.com Bowl. Last season, Arkansas State fell 38-20 to Northern Illinois, which beat Can't State in the MAC Championship Game on Nov. 30 to earn a trip to the Orange Bowl. The Huskies came up short in their first-ever BCS appearance, losing 31-10 to ACC champ Florida State.

Even though Can't State head coach Darrell Hazell has accepted the job at Purdue, he will lead the Golden Flashes in Mobile, Ala., against Arkansas State. Hazell was named MAC Coach of the Year after breaking the school record for most wins in a single season. The previous high was nine back in 1973. This is just the second bowl appearance in the program’s history, the other coming back in 1972, a 21-18 loss to Temple in the Tangerine Bowl.

Even the blind squirrel find the occasional nut!

Can't - 31

aSu - 17

Side note: ESPN has totally destroyed this years bowl season with the worst production I've ever seen. Honestly, readings by potential announcers must be limited to "and we'll be right back"... The fact that an hour of football now includes 40+ minutes of commercials is almost un-watchable. I swear, they took a 5 minute break, came back and kicked the ball, then took another 5 minute break. Hopefully they'll spend a decent amount of time promoting the championship game during the GoDaddy Bowl. At least that way they'll be talking about football right?

Your absolutely right, it's not just ESPN though, it's every football broadcast. My solution is the DVR. Record the game that starts at 8:30. Start watching the game at 9:15, you'll catch up by halftime. Pause the game, go do something for an hour, come back and start watching again. You'll be caught up by the end of the game. Replaying every other play is also ruining games. Did the ball touch a blade a grass?? Slow it down and zoom in x300 and you can see the ball skim one blade of grass. I've really had it with replay, if this is the way they run it, get rid of it. The flow of the game suffers.

I do enjoy GoDaddy commercials though.

Replays are making games last forever. In addition, they take all excitement out of the game when obvious TDs have to be replayed.

BTW, why do the refs say, "The previous play is under further review."...... It's, "The previous play is under review."

I watched Arkansas State beat the living fire out of a pretty good Middle Tennessee team. They have some serious speed and their QB is like a poor man's Johnny Manziel. Ark St. big, 47-21 if the weather is decent.

I think Can't wins a one score game. The difference is that they still have Hazell on their sidelines, while Malzahn is nowhere to be found.

If you are serious, you should definitely bet the under in the over/under.

Which team do you think will get the one score?

Are you predicting a safety, field goal or touchdown?

Have you taken the time to see that Arkansas State has scored somewhere between the 30s and 50s in almost every game this year?

As someone has pointed out, they have a Senior QB in his last game, who was Sun Belt POY, runs a high powered offense, and has broken tons of offensive production records.

I meant win by one score, obviously.

Arkansas State a 3.5 point favorite. Over/under 63.5

From EA's article in the PD today:

The spoils of victory actually come at the bowl games. For Can't State and Arkansas State players in the GoDaddy.com Bowl, the swag was pretty decent. Can't players were given new traveling sweats before leaving Can't for the southern shores of Alabama. Since arriving, they have picked up a watch, a set of Soul Republic headphones with the Can't logo, a leather garment bag and a commemorative football.

By NCAA rules, players and cheerleaders are not to receive bowl gifts collectively valued at more than $550. Players in Monday's BCS National Championship Game will be allowed to shop at a "gift suite," where items from watches to electronics are available.

Did they have a contest amongst the fashion majors to see who could come up with the dumbest helmet design of all time? Love it.

has Can't hired a new HC yet?

Paul Haynes, DC from Arkansas and former OSU assistant. Looks like a clone of Darrell Hazell and is a hire that kind of worries me. Mainly because he is a Can't grad that will most likely be sticking around for a long time.
