Dr Z
THIS is the play you run in Ann Arbor when it's 3rd and 1 at the Michigan 2 late in the 4th quarter. Not Chisholm outside for a two yard loss. is pretty sweet. Gave me goosebumps. It's Terry Bowden in the locker room after the Miami win. Thanks B&G, I enjoyed that! Good to see the team having fun. blueandgold
Someone needs to cap that Hundley hit from the last drive and upload to youtube! EDIT: Decided to do it myself. Pretty fitting that the guy Hundley ran over was named "K-E-N-T Kern" That is one of the best "trucks" i have ever seen! Nothing like a RB decleating a linebacker! Love it!! Zips Win!
+1 MAC win, road win.... forget style points, this is huge for our program. We'll take it, but that was brutal. Clearly, we play to the level of our competition. MU is atrocious and we kept them in the game. Sure it beats walking out of the stadium losing a 70 yard hail mary, but come on, we are better than that. 1. Where the hell is McCray, Mizell and why isn't Turner getting in a LB. Any why the hell doesn't anyone in the media let us know why these guys aren't playing. What the hell does Pud Dunn do all week. Dude has never given any meaningful insight into the team. And he has a radio show. Only in America- actually only in Akron. 2. Why does every drive start out with a nice pace and end like every drive under JD with the QB looking over to the sideline. FASTER, FASTER, FASTER. 3. Stop the fumbling. 4. Dillard needs to make that easy catch early on which would have changed field position and probably negated MU's first TD. 5. With a minute to go in the first half with the Zips having first and goal at the 6, we hand off to Hundley who is running in for a score- or at least to the one. A flag is thrown and the play gets dead. What the hell is with the no foul on the play yet we do not get the results of the play. Garbage. How can it be just a do-over? Two plays later we fumble. MAC refs still blow. Geez, we had two illegal formations and a sideline penalty in the second half which made 1st and goal at the 5 a heck of a lot harder. A TD puts the game away, yet we could only get 3 that possession and MU was still in the game. How big was MU's personal foul on the onside kick. That extra 15 yards enabled us to go for it on 4th down. Without it, we are punting and who knows how it ends. To think that my drive to EMU in stinkin' 2008 was the last road win...5 years later the streak ends... Let's play above our competition on Saturday and bring home another W. Captain Kangaroo
Thank you ZipsWin! for taking the time to post something of interest and substance. I read your post and it reminded me of the old days...Brookhart and Owens era...when ZipsNation actually exhibited some quality penmanship. The wins weren't always there, but the games were USUALLY tight. And we had a chance to win. And you could point to several pivotal moments there the outcome was decided. And ZipsNation left every game itching to break it down. I hope the reason you were compelled to write a recap was because Zips football games might just actually be worth discussing. That the games are becoming increasingly competitive, and the team is becoming interesting to follow in-depth. I hope the Miami game, and your post, were indeed really the first sign that winning + fun + interest are returning after the Zips nuclear winter. Dr Z
Jerrod Dillard talks about getting his first road victory as a Zip with George Thomas. Assuming this was shot on a mobile phone. Mobile Phone tripods are helpful. If you shoot on auto white balance, don't shoot faces with widows or bright lights behind them. Thanks. Enjoyed the video. More of this guy please. "If you try to run outside, you'll never get there. If you run inside, you'll get outside." Jerome Bettis.
