Captain Kangaroo
Will the A-logo helmet in front of the show tables finally be switched to the "Z-logo" zipper helmet? We'll find out tonight....

GJGood
Am I the only one that prefers the A-logo to the Z-logo? I like the Zipper top though. I guess I'm saying I like what the Zips wore against James Madison.

Balsy
I like the A-Roo (thats how me and my friends always refer to it) better. Zipper was okay, as long as we get rid of the stupid "Zip Zip go the Zips" part...how infuriating. But why can't we have two different helmets? wear them interchangeably? we're interchanging the pant color schemes...why not the helmets too? Zips Win!
I bet we get the same grey pinstripe suit.
Blue & Gold
My $0.02: I much prefer the Z to the A-Roo logo. But I do miss the Zipper stripe. Haven't seen that in a few weeks. I do appreciate how they are alternating the uniforms. However, I'd say my favorite combo has been the all whites we wore @ Michigan & @ BGSU. I like the gold pants as well, but I thought the white pants w/ blue jerseys we wore @ home vs. UL-La. were great. Very sharp.
Hilltopper
This is a fun thread, but Joe has absolutely zero control over how this show is produced. He is just a hired talking head. I'm pretty sure Brad Swanson is responsible for the show. When I see him tomorrow I will ask him to change the helmets.
Dr Z
I would like to see Joe wear the helmet during the entire show. He will look cool, AND he will sound like Lord Vader if properly mic'd.

But why can't we have two different helmets? wear them interchangeably? we're interchanging the pant color schemes...why not the helmets too? Probably because they would have to buy new decals every time they wanted to switch the design. Once you take the A-Roo off, they get thrown away and you replace it with Z's. Would be a never ending cycle of throwing away decals and buying new ones. Pants are different because it doesn't cost them extra money every time they decide to wear white, blue or gold. We already own them. I'd much rather see Gold and Blue helmets both with the Z logo. But I doubt UA could afford that.
Dr Z
Probably because they would have to buy new decals every time they wanted to switch the design.Printing the two designs on more sheets than they would ever use, might cost fifteen hundred bucks (high end). UA1987
Joe has done (Dunn) a very good job in a difficult situation - marketing and reporting on Zips Athletics. He actually has fun with what he is doing and is truly a Zips fanatic - maybe the most fanatic of them all. If you have questions, call his radio show (Big Time Sports 3-6 weekdays 1-866-372-1350), and I think he'll try and give you an honest answer about anythng Zips related. Captain Kangaroo
Joe has done (Dunn) a very good job in a difficult situation - marketing and reporting on Zips Athletics. I think he has a fantastic situation. Perennial NCAA tournament D-1 men's basketball program to cover. NCAA Champion men's soccer program. He gets to cover D-1 college football. Broadcast games from The Big House, State College, Neyland Stadium, The Horseshoe....Terry Bowden is the Zips football coach. If he were running a radio or TV show on Muskingum, I'd say he's got it tough. But he really has nothing tough with the Zips. Lob some softballs to the Zips coaches once a week...tell everyone Bickley was a yard deep in the endzone before he fumbled...then call it a day. I don't think he does any Marketing for UA? I will give you this - It had to be supremely difficult to tell Rob Ianello "The kids certainly aren't quitting" and "Rob, I think good times are just around the corner," without laughing in the guy's face. That takes a real pro. No doubt about it.

That takes a real pro. No doubt about it. I believe Joe was Director of Sports Marketing at UA for 22 years. Once, I saw him outside the Rubber Bowl, years ago, when Faust was here, working alone on a UA fan involvement booth with a microphone trying to get people to impersonate Faust for a prize or ticket. All they had to do was say something like ' I think this is the best in the Country Joe' in a raspy voice and they would be done, but only one or two tried that I saw. Joe did everything he could to get people to attend football games after we went Division IA. I'm guessing this was his #1 job objective. Pretty tough assignment I'd say. Interestingly, Joe came over from the dark side - he graduated from Can't. Frenchy also is not a UA alum - he went to OU, as most fans know. I was down on the sidelines during a recent game when Joe made sure his radio mic was OFF and yelled at an official. To put aside the job he was doing for a minute, and start chewing on an official like he was any other fan, certainly proves where he stands among Zips fans. I've never personally met either JD or Steve French, but I love both. We're lucky to have guys in those positions who are as passionate about the Zips as we are. Listening to the Big Time Sports show right now & Joe's pimping the Zips -vs- Coastal Carolina game.

Hilltopper
On? On Joe? I didn't go there. If you want you could fire off an e-mail to Gregg Bach. He is in charge of producing the show. He was amazed at how closely the fans follow the show. They are definitely interested in feedback from the fans.

I have too much respect for Joe to ask that silly question, but I would LOVE it if he did. AND it might generate some talk about the show. If he did it, and there was a youtube clip of it, I would forward it along to SI's Hot Clicks....I just learned that Jimmy left!?!
