In case you missed it earlier:

18 MAC victories over Big 10 schools in a 9 year span.

As many as 4 in one year.

And these were not just "bottom feeders".

Didn't miss it.  Not impressed.

Big 10 is (271-49-2) against MAC

Average score: Big 10  33.5  -  MAC  15.0

Per decade
                    W        L        T      Win %       PFPG       PAPG
2010's       64       14        0       82.1       36.2       16.5
2000's      110       17        0       86.6       34.4       17.3
1990's       46        6        0       88.5       35.9       12.5
1980's       27        2        0       93.1       30.6       11.5
1970's       14        5        1       72.5       22.4       10.1
1960's        6        3        1       65.0       27.3       10.8
1950's        4        2        0       66.7       18.7       10.0

Badgers are 32-2, both losses (to WMU and NIU) coming in the absolute nadir of the program, 1988.

Indiana is 35-9-1

Purdue is 42-12-1

Minnesota is 30-4-1

Any of these three teams would be perennial favorites for the conference championship if they were in the MAC

That stat is helped by the fact that your conference scheduled included Purdue, Rutgers, Illinois, Maryland and Minnesota and didn't include Ohio State, Michigan, Michigan State and Penn State.

Last year's schedule was soft, but it also did include Alabama, USC, and Iowa. The D was stout by anyone's standard.

How many of those games have been at a MAC stadium? Maybe 10 percent ... if not less.

For example, I just looked up Purdue (which remember wasn't always the bottom feeder). 51 of the 55 games against the MAC in that span were in West Lafayette, and two more were in Detroit. No wonder that record looks as good as it does.

Even with that, I'll pluck out four MAC schools, which have been historically among the best ... BG, Miami, NIU and Toledo. Purdue is 10-11 against them since 1950. That is despite 19 of those 21 games at Purdue (who did play two game @Toledo). Actually, if we take out Miami (which Purdue is 7-3 against since 1950, and all at home, but is now a MAC bottom feeder), Purdue is a combined 3-8 against BG, Toledo and NIU in that span. But yeah, they would be perennial favorites, despite actually having to play half the conference games on the road (as opposed to 96 percent being either at home or a neutral field.)

The reason for that is that MAC stadiums are small, sad places that can't possibly generate enough revenue to warrant a trip.  Zero percent would make more sense.  Besides, your school seems content renting themselves out as glorified scrimmage opponents.  We'll leave your money on the side table, be quiet on your way out.

Come on LV you are a better troll than this. You need to pick up your game.

I miss the Bert days at Wisci. There was never a more troll worthy coach.

Congratulations.  This Wisconsin team is by far MUCH more talented than Pitt.  Oh wait you just want to skip that part.

No, I was just correcting your lack of knowledge by indicating that we have to play Chryst on the road this time.  You obviously missed that we beat him on the road.

Maybe you should check your facts before you post?

Some odds and ends.

o WARF - Wisconsin Alumni Research Foundation.  I worked there four years back in  the 1970's. (Actually the WARF institute, but we just called it WARF) One of their products is Warfarin - the blood thinner and rat poison.  I see it's also a local Akron radio station.

Say something nice about Akron or the Zips  That's a tradition of Buckyville.  Some comments are straight and some a little off center.

o IMO, the AP with Wisconsin at #10 is too high.  The coaches' poll has the Badgers at 16, which seems about right to me.

o Terry Bowden was always a favorite of mine.  Couldn't say why, but I always liked him on TV.  Thought he got a raw deal from Auburn.  I think he's doing a good job for Akron.

o The Wisconsin band will play your school fight song twice. Once at the Union South pre-game concert and once at the stadium before the game.

o Badger YouTube preview:

Happy trails to those of you making the trip.

Jerome Lane averaged 19 yards against OK last year with a QB who was way out of his league. I doubt the "venerable" varmint defense will be any better. When we finally put Woodson in as QB, he moved the ball better than the other two. I think you are woefully underestimating our offensive threats. But, I guess it's hard to see when your head is up your @$$.

Oh, how I love statistics.

19 yards per catch sounds impressive.

3 catches, for 42, 9, and 6 yards and no TDs doesn't sound quite as impressive.
