ASU3432Mi
Coming up for the game this weekend. Never been in your part of Ohio b4. Staying in North Canton. Suggestions on where to eat? Thanks.

Edit: As for sports bars the only 3 that I'm aware of that are in North Canton are Puckers, TD Tailgate, and Winking Lizard. Of the 3 Winking Lizard would be my choice as it has the most extensive beer selection but none of them are must sees. Belden Village has a lot of food options, but it is mostly all chain food. PS. I'm not sure if you plan to visit the Hall of Fame, but it is only a 10 or so minute drive and well worth seeing. Canton would offer you a better food selection. Dr Z
There are some local places in this food thread in another forum. Here is the Swenson's site kreed mentions. LeBron James Pitches Trainwreck Sequel in 'Funny or Die' Sketch At Swenson's North Canton is too far south for me to help you, but here is a TripAdvisor list to get you started. Hilltopper, or others can probably comment more intelligently.

Definitely plan on going to HOF.
roopride
There is a Jerzees in Belden. Also suggest you hit dowtown Akron.
Hilltopper
Legends Bar and grill is pretty good. It's only a mile of so up the road in Green. Smoke the Burger Joint is real good too. If you like Mexican food, Nuevo Acapulco has great Margaritas and food. If you want more upscale you can't go wrong with the Twisted Olive . Finally, if you are a whiskey connoisseur, you will really like Whiskey Ranch. They have over 150 brands of whiskey in stock. All of the places are just a few minutes drive from where you are staying.

It's to die for, highly recommend it. Edited September 20, 2016 by Balsy
skip-zip
Go to Roosters in Belden Village. Plenty of TVs and a Sport Bar atmosphere. Are you familiar with the Tilted Kilt? I believe they are all over the country. There's scantily clad girls with Irish Kilts that's pretty easy on the eyes. There's one in N. Canton. Now you're talkin! Just gotta figure out how to convince(fool) the wife into going. Thanks for the info.

Thanks for the info. Yes, you might want to consider leaving your wives back at the hotel when you are going there. Or, keep in mind that you are near a HUGE mall, so you might be able to occupy them with a couple of hours or shopping. I can probably even direct you to a few other "professional performer" establishments. But I'm in my 50s now, and I'm not even sure if any of those places that I used to attend are still in existence anymore. Enjoy your stay here. And enjoy the tailgating and game. Thanks for the info. The last (and only) time I went to the Tilted Kilt the food was mediocre at best and our waitress was downright ugly! I try to avoid chain restaurants unless there are no other options.
zippy5
Yeah if you're driving up here please don't go to a chain restaurant. Go to Luigi's, Lockview, Swensons or something of that variety mentioned above.

Geisen Haus is decent, if you like German food. Right off Portage near 77. Canton Brewing is also not bad.
Ham
Take this with a grain of salt; I'm from Iowa. I'll be in town for Homecomming weekend and I will be sure to visit the Hopping Frog. On game day, it will only be a short trip to the Thirsty Dawg. I know one does not live on beer alone, but I can get a burger anywhere.
