No way to know one way or the other, but I wonder...

A-PB is lame to the degree that, I wonder if UA was working to get YSU to just bite the bullet & come play us w/o expecting a return trip and YSU refused, making UA a little desperate to simply get the date filled?

Or could be the game they test a couple of these new 2017 guys out before deciding rather to redshirt or not

Looking over this schedule I feel we need the Marshall/App State Woodson for us to get to 6 wins. This schedule is by no means easy. Outside of Pine-Bluff there really aren't games (at-least not many) that we can pencil in as wins. I'd say Bowling Green and Buffalo, but we lost to them last year. Miami looks far improved from when we played them.Kent shouldn't be anything to write home about and would be a team we'd need to beat. As for our crossover games, I feel Toledo will win the MAC this year and WMU should still have a lot of carryover talent from the Fleck years. Ball State is definitely winnable, but far from give me. Going to OOC Penn State (L). Troy looked pretty good last year and if I'm not mistaken return nearly their whole team. Iowa State is who they are. They are an opponent that we could beat, but they are far from give me (at-least for us, not the Big 12).

None of the 4 road MAC games are gimmies

I don't think any of them are gimmes

Offense

we had starting QB & RB injuries 2/3 of WR core turn over, lost best OL

defense

whole d line got hurt for most part, may have lost a LB & both corners

good news, Woodson should return healthy after surgery, looks like Ball is gonna get another year & will see if anyone steps up at WR (IMO Chapman becomes slot with all new QB's)

hopefully Boxen returns strong, need some D-lineman to step up & I think we have a better LB coming in this year from Pitt after sitting last year & maybe move Davis to a CB as safeties should be ok with everyone healthy

we we have a lot of work to do

BTW - can't help but think of a team we are all familiar with when reading their previous year preview.

What?  The optimist/pessimist part?

I think a national sports publication just invested more in researching and analyzing Troy Football in one article than Akron's major, local hometown publication has invested in their hometown D-1A team in the last 5 years, combined.

I can't believe someone put forth that much effort to write about Troy football. Nice job for sure, but...I couldn't do it.

I wonder if there's someone saying that on a Troy board somewhere about Akron?

Wait, we're talking about GT here.
