MDZip
Quickly, wild rampant speculation. UConn and one other school has been granted football membership.
kreed5120
What I figured. Schedules have been released. http://www.mac-sports.com/news/2017/2/28/FB_0228174937.aspx Edited March 1, 2017 by kreed5120

LZIp
Kent State at the end of the season at home. Same with Ohio. Horrible.
zippy5
3 straight weeknights to end the year again. I used to be in favor of playing Kent the last week for "rivalry week" but a Tuesday night in November =
kreed5120
This schedule is a huge disappointment IMO. They put our 2 best conference home draws as Tuesday November games when the weather will suck and people would rather watch from TV instead of dealing with the cold and freezing rain. LZIp
Also the bye, while a few weeks earlier this year, only gives us a whole 10 days off. I imagine its like that for most MAC programs, but still kind of crappy.

kreed5120
What I don't get is how Kent got the game early last year therefore was able to attract a decent crowd, meanwhile, we get stiffed. They could have at least thrown us a bone and let us host Ohio in early October. Edited March 1, 2017 by kreed5120

Blue & Gold
Silly me, I thought the MAC had gotten smart last year after they scheduled the Akron-K.ent game earlier in the year before the weather turns sour. Play K.ent in October & play Ohio for Rivalry Week. Why can't the MAC ever get anything right?

tpsjugglerdude
I must have missed the Appy State change. What happened? Why did our return game get moved to 2022?
GJGood
I don't mind the archrival game being the last one. You never know what the weather may do any given week in northeast Ohio. However, I do think it should be on a Saturday where attendance at least has a chance to be good.

Amen to that. They got a Saturday Afternoon on Oct 1st. This is ridiculous.
Blue & Gold
Who decides these things and is there any way for Larry Williams to preview the schedule and say, "Whoa, hold up there! I really don't think so. TRY AGAIN, ONLY THIS TIME WITHOUT BEING MORONS!"? Edited March 1, 2017 by Blue & Gold
Blue & Gold
"The MAC just released its 2017 football schedule. There are ZERO Saturday games in November." -Matt Brown The MAC sucks.
Balsy
Well for the November Games...this year is on pace to be the hottest year on record (beating out last year...which beat out the year before it...which beat out the year before it), so there's a wild chance we may have 75 degrees in November like we had in Februrary this year. Why in the hell do they schedule our Kent game in November...last year it was in October. Soooo Kent gets to benefit from good weather but the better stadium doesn't? The MAC is fundamentally stupid.
morris buttermaker
Awful .... who would have thought it was possible to make a schedule that bad.

zippy5
I have a feeling ESPN had more say than anyone with the MAC. In fact I'd guess the MAC didn't have any say
