I wish I had @Blue & Gold optimism this week. I wouldn't be terribly surprised if Kato picks up enough junk yards in the 3rd and 4th qtr to clear 290 yards as I see Troy jumping out to a large lead fast and willing to concede underneath routes over the middle.

l submitted my usual homer predictions.  As bad as things seem, I don't think things are beyond hope.  I predict a close game down to the wire.  Since we have been a second half, fourth quarter team, Zips win in closing minutes.  FF:  Zips rush for over 100 yds!

Fearless forecast - (this is terrible and I hope it doesn't happen but...) Kato goes down with a season-ending injury on a blind-side hit on a blitz that the OL didn't block....

Zips win both QBs go for 290 plus.  We get 3 or more sacks. And  my fearless forecast: Lako scores a TD. I'm feeling optimistic.

Troy MAY be better than UAB. Way too much talent for Akron to win the game outright. The best Sunbelt teams play at a higher level than most teams in the MAC. They have people coming back from last season. The new coach was there last season. Unfortunately unless something drastic happens and the lights come on for the Offense and defensive backfield the best that can happen is a 'moral' victory for Akron. Hopefully,Arth has a plan for next season. Whatever the problems with the O-line,and they are significant, I think Arth will take a hard look at another QB during the rest of the season. Will be at the game at least for a while.

Brandon and Deltron both had runs of 16 yards today.

Anybody know how many sacks the Zips had today?

 

I'm pretty sure we have a winner @zippyfan34 and @blueandgold both guessed neither QB would throw for 290+ and the score difference.

 

@blueandgold guessed no sacks, and @blueandgold guessed 1-2, but I don't see a box score that indicates the total.

 

I remember Jest jumping on the QB, not sure they counted it as a sack?

Akron credited with 1 sack. OH BOY! Akron was so bad Troy didn't need to pass. OR!? they didn't need to run?

I was almost sure I had won the Fearless Forecast when Kato got smacked on that sack early.  I was hoping I was wrong, and relieved, but amazed, he came back and played credibly the rest of the game.
