Looks like Miami got a haul of P5 transfers this year.

Yeah, they’ve seemingly done well. Rivals has them #2 comprehensive behind Toledo.

Our class is in the midst of dragging itself out of the doldrums of MAC rankings and is now ranked 4th comprehensive according to Rivals. We have a chance to end up 3rd.

We currently do not have a LS on roster.  There is a freshman coming in this summer as well.

The wording on his tweet is so bizarre. Another account confirmed this is a commitment.

The wording is strange, I didn't understand he actually accepted the offer.

I didn't either until I clicked on his profile to see who we "offered" and found this tweet that he liked.

James Madison OL

6’ 6”, 340 lbs.

Zips have had 3-4 serviceable OLs in any of the past few seasons. They should be 2-deep with options this year. We should have a legit team and a manageable schedule this season. Gotta at least go 6-6. I’m feeling 7-5, which is insanity. I’ll make my stone cold lock prediction after I see an August scrimmage or two.

Zips hitting the specialists hard the last week. Offers to long snapper and a punter.

We offered Syracuse RB Juwaun Price. I’m guessing one of our current RBs has left the team in some capacity.

Why would players come to Akron with the postseason ban and embarrassing recent headlines?

Probably because they know this APR ban won’t stick. As soon as a school takes NCAA to court over it, APR will go away. It should have been eliminated already.

Will Akron take them to court?

If a players main prerogative is to make a bowl game why would they choose Akron regardless? Akron has been in the MAC for 30+ years and has made 3 total bowls. That equates to 1 every 10 years. They would have better odds of making a bowl game at literally any other MAC school.

The players we're getting IMO are coming for a variety of different reasons such as; they have limited options, they want an opportunity to see the field, want to play locally, like a coach, etc. I would add money to the list, but I'm not sure if the NIL for the program is really in a place to win bidding wars.
