Not sure why he didn’t sign early, especially since he already had a “Top 4.” In any case, he’d be a great pickup. Looks like a natural at free safety but could also play cornerback.

My assumption with some of these high school guys is they get P5/upper G5 offers earlier on in the process (spring at the latest). Then the transfer portal gets flooded right before signing day, and the conversations that previously complimented said offers change. 

 

"We have playing time."

 

"Hey, we had playing time before, but we are going in a different direction with this position. The offer stands (or is rescinded) but I can't guarantee what I could before playing time wise."

 

One of the benefits for G5 programs when it comes to how the TP affects HS recruiting.

David Jester (FL) is coming in for an official visit this weekend. Rivals has him rated as a 3 star WR, but he played S his senior year. He’d be a great pickup on either side of the ball. Hudl film linked.

Size is definitely the first thing that stands out. He was strong against the run at the JUCO level, but he’ll face better competition here. What sold me is when I saw him run. Not many guys his size run like that. He certainly has a lot of upside and it’s easy to see why he was offered.

Mimouni’ s first year playing DE. 247 seems to like him a lot more than Rivals. I think he has a ton of upside potential. We’ll see how it all shakes out with our new DL coach.

I think he’s just a late bloomer. He’s a great athlete that’s only played one year with his hand in the dirt. In HS he played WR,TE, and LB. He isn’t as polished as some of the other DE’s but his size and athleticism can’t be taught. High upside guy that could be a steal if he continues to develop.

Good question. So far he’s taken visits to Western Kentucky and Bowling Green. Just from the outside looking in, it seems both parties have turned their interest elsewhere. But I don’t have any insider information to substantiate that.
