UA1996MAENG
Friday apologies if this has been brought up before, but in light of the possibility that NIU and UT could join the MW as football-only members, I'm again curious about the viability of the MAC in general as a G5 conference. As it stands now, how much does each university receive from its media contracts, agreements, etc.? I cannot find reliable information about this online. EDIT: I was just told on another site that each MAC university gets about 2.5 million, up from about 800K. Is that correct? The most recent media contract is under $1M per school. It's the 3rd largest G5 media deal, behind the American and MW. kreed5120
I shared this file a few weeks ago. It's the MAC'S most recent tax filing. It has all the information you need, including total payout for each MAC school. https://projects.propublica.org/nonprofits/organizations/310682486/202411369349308926/full 1

This is several times what UMass would expect to earn from Atlantic 10 revenues, which come primarily from men’s basketball. The Minutemen will receive 75% of a share of MAC distributions in 2025-26 (expected to be between $1.5-2 million) and a full share every year thereafter (expected to be between $2-2.5 million). Very interesting reading. Please provide a list of the three most interesting things you found. I perused the document and the more I looked the stronger the feeling became that the conference may be spending more money on accountants filing tax-exempt returns. than it would have to pay in taxes as a taxable entity.
