Actually, the last game is on Friday. I think the day after Thanksgiving can be a good opportunity for fans who have the day off and need to get out of the house after a busy  Thanksgiving. Everything I just posted makes sense, which makes me think the MAC will schedule the game when it is most likely rain during the fall, in the evening, so I predict the game will start at 8 PM. 

 

Not to mention by playing the games on Friday you don't have to compete with rivalry Saturday. OSU-Michigan attracts a ton of attention. Usually a friend of mine hosts a watch party for the game. Even those who don't care much about OSU or even football still attend because who doesn't enjoy having an excuse to hang out with friends, drink beer, and eat pizza/wings. 

 

Trying to compete head-to-head would the game would be disastrous for any Ohio or Michigan MAC school from an attendance standpoint.

If you're going to play on Thanksgiving weekend when no one's on campus, I agree that Black Friday is the better choice.

i did indeed, thanks. I will look forward to watching some of that if I can. I guess a little creativity was needed to get them in so quickly. So are they fully eligible starting this year?

Wake Forest single game sales started today. 

 

One other thing. Do NOT buy tickets on the Akron side. The game will start in the early evening when the sun stays out longer. The seats are black and get sun all day. It is brutally hot on the visitors side. I sit in section 6. Even high up seats are a very good view.

I always found it weird how Akron handles ticketing.

 

For example, to me it would have made sense to start selling season tickets to mens basketball immediately after they won the MAC Tournament. Capitalize off the excitement. Perhaps some of those fans who went to the games in Cleveland had a memorable experience and would be open to season tickets with that excitement fresh in their minds.

 

By the time it gets to July or August and tickets do go on sale people will be thinking of getting their kids ready for back to school and will be engulfed with football too much to care about basketball.

I just locked in my seats the other day. I believe deposits were available the day after we won the MAC.

Yes, I put a deposit as well. Deposits just feel different than actual tickets. I'm sure much of the delay is sorting through priority to determine which premium seats are and are not available.

 

I still think it wouldn't be a bad to at least open up general admission sales. Let people know how affordable tickets really are.

How can you sell GA tickets without knowing the schedule though? I definitely understand what you're saying, I just think they're limited in what they can do.

I was more meaning season game packages, not single game tickets. Most people aren't going to be able to attend all 13-15 home games anyway. You really don't need to in order to get your money's worth.

 

Football is much different. There are only 5 home games most years so having conflicts for 2 of them would be like 40% of the games. That's less of a problem for basketball.
