Where are they going to go and who is going to pay their exit fee for the ACC?

Let's not act like the Big Ten and SEC wouldn't be interested in the aforementioned brands. The Big 12 would also be interested in a few, including some of the others I'd imagine.

Interested enough to pay the massive exit fee to the ACC for inferior products?

Wouldn't it make more sense, and cost nothing, to just wait out the inevitable separation of P4 schools from G5 and the NCAA?

The exit fee reduces to $75m in a few years if I'm not mistaken. That'll be picked up in a heartbeat.

TBF Miami (FL), North Carolina, and Florida St. are all bigger brands than anything left in the Big 12. The ACC just has a lot more dead weight. The Big 12 is more solid top to bottom. Their strength is in their depth.

If you're an B1G school and you want to add 2 schools it would make sense they would take 2 of the bigger brands from the ACC over any of the teams from the Big 12 IMO.

So the Big 12 is currently ahead of the ACC, but the Big Ten and SEC want all the ACC brands and not Big 12 brands? Interesting

The Big 12 has a deeper conference IMO and a carved out niche geographically. Basketball wise, it's the best conference in the country. It'll be the last conference to succumb to the Big 10/SEC suction.

The Big 12 is probably interested in half of the ACC brands.  The Big Ten might be interested in two.  Not sure anyone beyond Florida State or Clemson moves the needle enough for media rights.  And not even sure those two do.

Basketball doesn't matter, not enough money there to bother.

Florida State is bigger than any Big 12 brand.  Clemson likely is as well.  The Big 12 is the more secure league because they then probably have the next six-eight marketable brands after those two, but not so "marketable" as to be interesting enough to the SEC or B1G.

Miami is good at spending on the football, but their brand isn't as big as much of the Big 12.  They're heard of, sure, but just don't bring the eyeballs.

UNC isn't good at the sport that matters for media dollars, and they don't seem to outwardly care about it.  They're not a brand the B1G or SEC would have much interest in until they fix that (which is probably why the weird desperation play for Belichick).
