Excellent find, CK! Mondo was really a lot of fun to watch here, especially as a freshmen. Injuries prevented him from building off of the success of that 1st season in full, but he gutted it out and I give him credit for that. It's good to see that he's been able to have such a nice, long career up north.

Yesterday's practice included a heavy dose of Jawon.

49.png

Jawon carried the ball 10 times in practice, here's every carry.
• Taking the ball from Landry Jones, got piled up at the line of scrimmage
• It happened again on the next play
• Ran right off the tackle for 20 yards
• Cut off to the right for about five yards
• Ran for three yards to the left
• Five yards up the middle
• Arthur Moats nailed him in the backfield for a five-yard loss
• Tackled in the backfield
• Ran off-tackle to the left in the red zone, cut back and had the whistle blown as he found open space
• Got tackled by Anthony Chickillo in the backfield
He also caught kickoffs in the non-contact kickoff portion of practice. Source: Jacob Klingler of PennLive
Maybe he will see some action Sunday night in Canton during the Hall of Fame game.

Not too bad of a start. Gives you a glimpse of how badly the O-line performed last year. With Bell's 2 game suspension he could could get enough reps to land somewhere where they have a true opening.

Chisholm runs 10 times. 2 are for no gain and 3 are for a loss. With all due respect, zipsoutsider: How does that give a glimpse of how badly the O-line performed last year?

Ran right off the tackle for 20 yards

That's how. Come on. Are you seriously implying the o-line wasn't awful last year? I saw improvement at the spring game believe Funk seems to have a handle on this.

I'm not implying anything. If you want to trash last year's offensive line performance and/or coach, go ahead. I certainly see nothing in this snippet of Chisholm runs that suggests anything, though and I certainly saw nothing in the spring game that me feel warm and fuzzy about this season, either.

What I did see in the picture (which I heard are worth a thousand words) is Jawon Chisholm putting the brakes on in the middle of a hole.

Whatever. I forgot there were some Chisholm-haters here. I don't see anything that implies he missed a hole.

ESPN topic on one writer's opinion on who should be the next person from each team to make the hall of fame. I read the Dolphins one with interest.

Miami Dolphins
Jason Taylor. Taylor should be the next Dolphins player enshrined in Canton. The former defensive end is sixth all time with 139.5 sacks and was elected to six Pro Bowls. His eligibility begins in 2016. -- James Walker

Next year - that would be awesome - I think he has a legitimate shot.

Steelers sign Jawon Chisholm.

Just a reminder from Jawon at his Pro Day how far the Zips have come with coach Bowden.

Dang, was in Pgh last week and was considering making a trip to Latrobe for training camp. Wish I had. Good luck to Chisolm. I'd really love to see him catch on with the Steelers. Good luck to him. He deserves a shot. http://www.pennlive.com/steelers/index.ssf/2015/08/steelers_harrisburg_rb_jawon_chisolm_rep.html

Chis looked alright from what I saw tonight in 4-5 carries. Probably not good enough to help his chances, but did hold his own. Hit the holes hard and seemed to get 3-4 a carry.

edit: I may have missed a few carries. Looks like he has 7 carries for 14 yards. Better than Stingly, but not as good as Archer. All 3 are MAC backs. Go figure.
