Well obviously not CoC specifically. But if the rumors were true and he was a finalist at Butler and USF, maybe this was the one last ride all along.

it seems crazy to me that he supposedly priced himself out of the USF job so they settled for the CoC coach, but CoC as able to then meet his demands. Maybe the USF rumblings weren't as real as we thought

I wouldn't expect anything less from Groce. He is a stand up guy and I know this couldn't have been easy on him either

I was speaking on recruiting - he's been with Groce for 12+ years or something, he doesn't have a recruiting connection that hasn't already been of use to us. He will have a chance to add to that with his assistant hire(s)

Groce was 4-0 in MAC championship games and COVID took away his 5th. KD was 3-6 or something like that. Grateful for both but not even close imo

We need him to keep Sharron and Eric, or I don't know if I like this move. He isn't bringing his own "guys" - he has the same connections as Groce, and was recruiting the same guys. If we lose these guys, it may be a bit of a rebuild

This is the real issue imo. Zips Nation shows out for meaningful games (ie Kent and MAC tourney). Beating EMU by 20 just isn't that interesting anymore. That said, we should still be able to get more than 2K.

Friday home games EMU 1,843 (winter break) Kent 4,847 Umass 2,125 NIU 2,768 Saturday WMU 2,396 Small sample size obviously. I don't see it
