  2. Are you saying our 1897 win over Ohio State is somehow now meaningless? smh. 😂
  3. Where is Bigzipguy response to soccer games this season?
  4. There’s not a whole lot to be said about this one. As we’ve discussed before, this year’s offense goes as Finley goes. No Finley means no offense. Add in Patrick being out and our chances of competing dropped even more. I’m not sure why Finley didn’t play, but Johnson seemed like he was running a limited package in the first half. Toledo caught on quickly to what we were trying to do, and Johnson’s accuracy issues showed up again. Roggow throws it much better than Johnson, but he seems a ways off in terms of reading college defenses. The defense doesn’t get a pass either. There were way too many busts and missed tackles, even from guys who’ve been steady all year. Just one of those bad days at the office. We needed to be at our best to have a shot today, and that didn’t come close to happening. Now it’s about turning the page and gearing up for a physical — and potentially winnable — matchup with CMU next week. QB: Johnson Roggow HB: Gant M. Williams Macon Reed WR: Walker Mason WR: Polk Grear WR: Mar. Williams Monteiron TE: Newell Cravaack LT: D. Johnson Morley-Simmons LG: McManus Archer C Lyons Morris RG: K. Davis Archer RT: A. Jones King DE: Durham J. Frazier Brown DE: Dall D. Frazier DT: Hull Murphy Musika DT: Laventure Mixon Madden LB: Cooper Spriggs Benenge LB: Boswell Hocker NB: AL. Branch AA. Branch CB: DeWalt Kamara CB: Reed T. Thomas S: Flowers Hunter S: DI. Johnson Stepney Wondolowski Top Offense (20 snap minimum): RT - King OG - Archer RB - Gant WR - Polk WR - Monteiro Top Defense (20 snap minimum): DT - Hull LB - Spriggs S - Flowers DT - Laventure CB - T. Thomas
  5. If he's not 100% there's no point in risking aggravation in a game we were very unlikely to win; hopefully he'll be back next week. Apparently Johnson Jr. did not inherit much of his father's passing talent.
  6. That's what the question is. Is the FCS money lost on the dozens of TV dollars made up by having more than 1400 people show up for the two November home games?
  7. Vermont 2 UMBC 0 St. Louis with a 2-1 home win over LaSalle Creighton gets a 2-0 road win at DePaul Cornell 3-1 home win over Yale N. KY and Cleveland State 1-1 Georgetown 2-0 home win over St. John's Seton Hall 2-0 road win at Marquette Big East Midwest Standings Creighton 2-0 Akron alone in 2nd at 1-1 Xavier and DePaul 0-1-1 Marquette and Butler both 02 Big East - East Georgetown and Seton Hall both 2-0 Villanova 1-0-1 UConn and Providence both 1-1 St. John's 0-1-1
  8. Honestly any money we would save dropping to FCS is probably negated by lost revenue. Non-scholaship FCS or D2 would probably be where things would start making mathematical sense.
  9. Honestly, I debated whether FCS or Division 2 was the better call.
  10. Man I was almost hung at high noon for bringing that up a dozen years ago. I feel a bit safer now…
  11. Providence 3 Xavier 2 Villanova 2 UConn 1 Fordham 5 VCU 1
  12. A back heel goal on a corner from Remi!
  13. Yesterday
  14. Pretty lackluster after the first 10 minutes or so. Gotta find one in the 2nd half. Can't start conference play with 2 matches without a win!
  15. This field makes for an absolutely horrendous viewing experience. But the Zips are on the front foot early!
  16. All the fire the coach fans are out in full force. Again, this isn't about 1 coach or a QB...etc. This program can't compete at this level...... Let's frigging move on. I have season tix but likely only make 1 one more game. Not gonna lose sleep on weeknights for this garbage.
  17. Ok Roggow wasn't anything special in this one, in limited work, but...this season is shot. Time to see what he has.
  18. Bumping up my own reply since no one answered. 😂 I don't see any info about a Quarterfinal anywhere. It appears that only 4 make the tournament this year?
  19. Ah ok. That could be it. Maybe he tried working it during the warmups and it didn't go. Roggow in now, which is probably a mercy killing for Johnson.
  20. He hurt his ankle / leg toward the end of the game last week. Maybe it lingered all week.
  21. I had to step away for a bit, what was the delay for? Ah, injury. Hopefully the Toledo player is OK
  22. Well, I guess now is the time to make sure we give them credit for beating Duquesne. Wouldn't want to be too critical when they play a team with a pulse, after all.
