  1. The last time OU played in this bowl there were 28k in attendance. The bowl has averaged well over 20k attendance since it's inception. And the capacity is only 37k, so barring a blizzard it will be a great environment. And a profitable bowl. I think it will be the coolest. I don't think I will be able to attend, but so what. Congrats to the Zips on playing in a 2015 bowl!

  2. My God. Leave it to some fans on here to find a way to bitch about going to a bowl game against a winnable opponent. Is the location preferable? No. Is the opponent preferable? No. Who gives a damn?! Go out there and win the thing. I'll see anyone else who goes there. It will probably be around a $500 round trip flight. Game tickets should be cheap and lodging shouldn't be bad. It's just money. More than worth the experience. Go Zips!

  4. I am so happy for Coach Jared Embick, his coaching staff and this amazing, gutty, heart filled group of student athletes. Absolutely great soccer game. Fabian Herbers and Timo Pitters were as good as advertised but this Akron team has unbelievable character and belief in each other. I read many writeups before the game that the legendary college coach Elmer Bolowich was going to be the difference in the game. Coach Embick and his staff obviously made any great adjustments at halftime and Akron had much better possessions and chances in the 2nd half and in the OT's. Tremendous credit to our talented coaching staff. In the business world, there is a phrase that great leaders expect great results. I am not close enough to the team to know who the true leaders are....but I will share some history. Victor Souto has been saying since Brazil that this team would bring a 2nd star back to Akron. Victor Souto is a great soccer player and is a true warrior. Victor Souto is a great student athlete. I am very happy for Victor Souto and all of the soccer zip family that this team is achieving great results

  6. We put up 47 points and earned a 'W' on crappy turf once this year. Wash, rinse, repeat. Utah State is 2-9 all-time on Smurf Turf, 1-2 in the Potato Bowl. This team needed to go bowling and we're doing just that. Congrats Zips!

  7. Congrats Zips! 7 wins, a bowl game, on ESPN, just before Christmas. I know all about complaining and this is nothing to complain about. The program is headed in the right direction and I can't wait to see the game, although probably on DVR. I think that the crowd will be large simply because Boise has become a good college football town and that'll be the only prime event happening within hundreds of miles that day. Boom! Go Zips!

  13. According to the bracket, we'll take the winner of Wake/Stanford. Lots of fun to watch that ending, even though I had to mute my tablet because the audio was about 5-7 sec ahead of the video.
