On Zips Football with Terry they did a special on UG3. He said JB and him talk about everyday. JB watches every game then calls him to tell him what he did right and what he could do better.2 points

Is it possible to buy tickets for the student section? If you try to buy online, those sections are always grayed out. Not questioning what they said. Just seems odd that they could sell out a section they never sell tickets for.2 points

By my recollection, Willie (always liked the mural in downtown Massillon that shows him at QB for the Tigers) didn't finish the game because he was something like 1-10 for 8 yards and a couple of ints while he was QB. Don't quote me on the numbers of course, but the O didn't move the ball at all when he was in the game. Mike Junko actually played one of his better games that day (14 of 26, 156 yards, 1 TD, 1 int). The Hokie DE who came into the game with all the hype was Cornell Brown. Below is a mildly humorous link to a Hokie's take on the near upset. http://archive.techsideline.com/football/1996/games/akron.htm My main memory of that game is how bad the Zip D made Va Tech QB Druckenmiller look.2 points

After traveling to Akron, the Broncos next four games are EMU, Ball State, Kent and Buffalo. Not exactly murderers row. They can afford a loss. #sinktheboat2 points

He's such a humble guy too. Think we all knew what he had in him but this?! I think any talk of moving him to safety has disappeared. Nice ESPN piece on him and that was before last nights game. Selected in the fifth round by San Diego this season, Brown was taken with an eye toward depth at his position, along with an ability to contribute on special teams. But with Manti Te'o suffering an Achilles tendon tear in Week 3 against the Indianapolis Colts, Brown was thrust into a starting role and told to sink or swim. So far, Brown's doing the backstroke. Through five games, Brown leads the Chargers in tackles (28), is tied for tackles for loss (4) and also has two sacks, a forced fumble and five pass breakups. So now make that 42 tackles, 5 TFL's, 3 sacks and two forced fumbles. Funny thing is the article says he fits the mold of leaner, more athletic linebackers patrolling the middle which was the exact knock on him out of college. And with him being good at defending both the pass and run he hardly ever leaves the field.2 points

Frankly, I don't care who catches the ball. Chapman and Lane were certainly not on the same page. And Bowden says that we're going to be attacking the DB who's in single coverage. If Lane is that guy tomorrow, then he needs to make some plays.1 point

Jerome Lane need to impact the game. I hope his 2 week vacation is over, and he gets back to dominating. The public will be talking about one WR after the game. We need Jerome to steal the spotlight from Corey Davis with a monster day. JoJo and his big bad shoulder will come to play, I know that.1 point

First which president was that and how many people were in the room and did they pay to be there? Because there are some legality issues there along with some just poor character choices, because that is amateurish as all get out. Do you think Ohio State airs the Alabama game in the president's box? Second, they can watch Indians highlights on their phones, this isn't 1995. Throwing the score up is enough, the only thing that should be on our screens are our highlights and stats, and occasionally scores from other games.1 point

Really? We want to complain about possibly showing playoff Indians highlights? I've been in the President's box where everyone was huddled around the OSU game on all the tv's. Let's not pretend that everyone at the game are all diehard Zips fans. Let's make a better game day for the casual Zips fan. Many casual Zips fans are Cleveland fans so let's show them some love. When they're at the water cooler on Monday talking about the Indians game they can say they were at the Zips game and were still able to watch some highlights.1 point

Wow! What a game! THAT's the kind of history the Zips need to replay for fans periodically. My perception in college was that Akron had always sucked, because they never relived those kind of moments. It seems that they are trying to build something, and it goes with the team winning. They're slowly working on things. Multiple weekly videos, throwback videos, throwback helmets, dedications...we may all complain about the culture not changing fast enough, but it does seem that there is an effort to do so.1 point

8 hour trip to Tennessee November 6th to root JB on. $52 tickets. No Zips game the day before. A more affordable trip to FirstEnergy Stadium, Cleveland Saturday, December 24. You should be able to walk through the parking lot and score free tickets. Five bucks tops. The place will be half empty that day. I just happened to check the ticket exchange the other day, and was astounded how cheap Browns tickets are. It would be cool for the Browns to work with the Zips to put together an Akron section. Our AD might have some ins. PFF Top defensive grades: ILB Jatavis Brown, 85.5 ILB Korey Toomer, 84.6 OLB Melvin Ingram, 82.2 DE Joey Bosa, 82.0 NT Brandon Mebane, 80.7 San Diego rookies make big impact This isn’t your 2015 Chargers run defense or anything close to resembling it. San Diego finally has the horses up front to not only limit a run game, but stop it in its tracks. Outside of a few runs late in the game, the Broncos running backs had nowhere to go for most of the game. A big reason for their defensive success was the rookie duo of Joey Bosa and Jatavis Brown. Brown had a huge sack and forced fumble down the stretch while Bosa was consistently applying pressure throughout the game with five hurries and a hit. "To come out and beat the defending champs is amazing." Jatavis Brown in Chargers locker room after the win, in which he once again led the team in tackles.1 point

I belong to a facbook browns group and i tried to tell everyone about JB last year and most laughed at me when i said he would be better than Bosa, which in my opinion is one of the most overrated players in the draft. I wanted JB in the 5th but unfortunately SD took him one pick too early1 point

I'd think about that again. They'd be SMART if they were showing the Indians game? Why? So that people can stand in front of TV sets in the concourse instead of being in the stands supporting the Zips in our most important game in the last decade? Sorry, but that would be a horrible idea. And unless someone is really stupid, that won't happen. I expect maybe a few scoring updates. But everyone is capable of checking that on their own phones anyway, so that's probably not necessary.1 point

Just got posted to Youtube today. This was the game that turned Jason Taylor into a Zips legend. Will we see a current player take the same leap when given the opportunity?1 point

Wish I would have known this when we were playing Wisconsin but Akron had a bit part to play in the Wisconsin tradition of playing the song "Jump Around". Controversy briefly followed in 2003, when Richter, then the athletics director, asked for the song not to be played in the home opener against Akron because the stadium was under construction, and he feared the shaking could be dangerous. Outrage reached such high levels that Chancellor John D. Wiley was forced to step in. He announced "Jump Around" could be played the next week during a home game against UNLV after a study determined the building would remain structurally sound. So the last time that Wisconsin did not use that song at a home game was against the Zips. Fear the Roo.1 point
