  4. Well, as this Miami loss seem imminent, they are virtually eliminated from the race. So now the path becomes clear: Miami Game - Doesn't matter. OU - Win Kent - Win MAC East Champs

  5. Yeah. I was just being negative. The home side was SRO.

  9. Oh my goodness guys. No D1 program is ever going to fail to meet the attendance requirement. We are arguing over the fudge factor. If you think we averaged 15K this season without the fudge factor you need your head examined. On our best days the home side is half full. The visitor side never comes close to reaching half full. Each side seats 15K. Do the math.

  10. Some things you can be sure of: In a dead heat/flip a coin scenario for the 4th and final spot where the following pairs would be considered: Ohio State vs. Oklahoma State Notre Dame vs. TCU Alabama vs. Miami The first team listed in each of these pairs will be picked every time by a committee of humans. You can take that to the bank. A computer would not care about the politics of the matter. The team that was .000001 better would be in. That might mean Miami and their horrific fan base would be represented over Alabama and their mighty fan base, etc. That just can't happen. Too many dollars involved.

  11. I think we saw Woody throw last week. 21/29 and Bowden said one of the best of Woddy's career. I think we will see more passing but Sands did give us another dimmension. I think keeping up requires us to run to use up the clock. However, their DBs are not terribly tall and Wolfe and Woodson could have a good night, too.

  12. Its probably because of the pt differential. We ave 23 pts per and give 25. Miami ave 24 pts per and gives up 22. This made me look at the ave for the Mac and we ave 24 and give up 21. Miami both scores and gives up an ave. of 25

  13. Both beatable. Ohio is well coached. This could turn out into a high scoring game. They are going to try to wear down the D with the run against us. It will be a tremendous test of bend but don't break because they lull you to sleep with the run and then go for the big play. Ohio is efficient in the red zone but I think we can score on their secondary. Could be a good night for Wolfe. It will be tough to run against Ohio. Their all star LB is excellent. Miami is not as bad as people think but we can beat them, especially if we can force them to throw on 3rd down. They are on the verge of being unhinged tonight, fighting with the head coach and refs. I think if we throw stunts at them early and get them to lose their composure we could run away with it. If they keep their composure, we will still have a couple of take-aways. I could see a big night for Sands against Miami.

  14. Which means that they both suck defensively? This is why you see them as unbeatable?

  16. I've watched a couple OU games this year & I like his style/swagger. He's got big-play potential, but also has a tendency to force things & turn the ball over (just going by what I've observed; I haven't looked at stats). He's definitely entertaining to watch.

  17. Rourke, for those of you who don't recall, is the QB that OU beat us out for. I think after that is when we went after Johns. He's had a pretty nice year after taking sole possession of the starting job around week 2.

  19. Balsy, We find something we can agree on. Since the Big 12 now has a championship game, they can't use the 2014 "championship game winner" justification anymore. Yet, they selected them 2 years later when they couldn't even GET INTO their league's title game.....and faced the embarrassment of watching them get annihilated 31-0 in the Semifinal. It doesn't matter. They want all of the honks flying all over the country to spend money at the games, and will do whatever possible to make it happen.

  22. I'm not as good as Doc is on this, but here are a few of my shots from that Thanksgiving Day game, and I, like Rowdy Zip drove an hour north after the game too for Turkey Dinner! I napped a lot under a warm blankie that day....

  23. Thomas Woodson earned Mid-American Conference Player of the Week honors for the East Division, the league announced on Monday. Woodson took home Offensive Player of the Week honors, while Gasser was named Specialist of the Week. In Akron’s 21-20 win over Buffalo, Woodson went 21-of-29 for a season-high 286 yards and three touchdowns. Woodson moved into second place on the Akron career list with 6,829 passing yards Woodson is also No. 2 in career passing touchdowns (53).

  27. So a team with only one returning starter, a new coach, and a bunch of other guys who have never played together didn't look that good in their first scrimmage. And everyone has decided we will have a horrible season based on this? Probably the same guys who wanted to fire Bowden (who is probably on the way to another bowl game and has a good shot to take the MAC East). Oh well. WE ARE AKRON.

  28. You need to calm yourself down. You going to beat Bowden off this weekend? He lost to a team that is good and he beat a team that is really bad. Can you control your chubby???

  29. Our last three games on the schedule will be in bad weather, I think the Zips will have to improve their run game to be successful this month. I like what I saw at the end of the game last week. I thought Sands was able to take advantage of the defense over pursuing. Including next week, it will be six games without Ball, and he will still be the Zips leading rusher through mid November. I remember earlier in the season pulling the Guard and running counters through that hole, I don't recall seeing that recently. I thought that was a successful play that was helping to move the chains. Akron is ranked 19th in the country in Red Zone Defense, I'm not overly worried about the Bobcats offensive drives.
