I hope you are all well.
I certainly have much to be thankful for these days.
After seeing just a bit of practice, I'm now also thankful that my friends and fellow Zips hoops fans won't be disappointed by the upcoming season. It's been some time since I could say that about ZN.O.
Go Zips!
Alright, since I am on an ATTENDANCE rampage, I'm tired of seeing these 1,000 to 2,000 crowds for the friggin TOP 10 Zips.
What's going on?
It's going to be a very pleasant Saturday evening. We need some people out there tonight.
I remember being 30 and being the first person I knew that had a cell phone.
I even remember the huge bag phones that some people put in their cars 25 years ago.
Things have changed.
Teams passed with the O-line in the 3-point for decades. The 2-point became more popular with the advent of spread offenses. You don't have to run every time out of the 3. BUT,and this is a big 'but' so to speak, this is where your OC and HC have to be more creative than we have seen most of the time from Milwee and Bowden. Give the O-Line a chance. Personally I would like to see more real play action with Woodson under center. But,thats not gonna happen at this point with these two calling plays. At least give the O-Line some advantage when you want to run. They need to concentrate on the run more especially to give the D a blow.
We didn't leave.....but we did eventually end up inside some heated area we weren't supposed to be in.
Anyhow, we used to smuggle so much beer into those games and on that day there was a real freeze danger. I like to believe that no beer was lost to the conditions....but I honestly can not remember.
Tackles are on an island if there isn't a TE to at least chip that DE on their way by, that is for sure. A team that passes all the time cheats that OT as far off the line of scrimmage as possible also. Personally, I see no reason for OGs to ever be in a 2 point.
I remember talking to Travis Switzer's dad about his frustration with the 2 point stance because we weren't even getting down in a 3 point on the goal line. Hell, on the goal line, it's not a bad thing to have the offensive line get down in a 4 point stance if you want.
Pass blocking out of a 3 point stance is much easier than run blocking out of a 2. Anyone who doesn't think so, try it in the back yard with your friends.
A .500 season would be quite an accomplishment for groceries he has only 1 player with much Mac game experience, 4 players who have not played above high school, and very little depth. I think some of you are picking us on past reputation. Hope for the best , but prepare for the worst
I thought this during the Buffalo game. Home field advantage has to turn into a disadvantage at that point. I recall playing basketball in high school and getting amped for a huge game mid-winter and coming out of the locker room to 70 people. Hopefully D1 athletes can "clear the mechanism" and work past it.
I know it’s a big “if” that it even happens, but the thought of the kids playing the biggest game of their career in front of a pitiful crowd makes me very sad.
