As a person who always feels starved for info about the Zips, that #1 ranking in media exposure is pretty depressing. Just shows how little impact that MAC has if we are somehow the most exposed.

Orrville sophomore Marquael Parks was recently named as the Ohio Player of the year regardless of division by MaxPreps: "OHIO PLAYER OF THE YEAR: Marquael Parks, Orrville, RB, Soph. Amazing talent capped historic season individually and collectively with a Division V state title. Scored 56 total touchdowns and 336 points, which both rank second for single-seasons in state history. Only Harvest Prep's Daniel Bangura scored more (57 TDs and 348 points). Parks scored TDs rushing, receiving and via return (punt, kickoff, interception and fumble). He ran for 2,799 yards and had 474 yards receiving. " Parks was also named to the MaxPreps 2018 sophomore All American team: and... Thomas Worthington sophomore Sheron Phipps had the #1 national play of the year according to MaxPreps: The new coaches should offer both Parks and Phipps.

Wil is not a free agent. He has a contract with the Crew which was recently signed. His going to Celtic is a Columbus Crew/Celtic decision. (Transfer fee $$$) @fknbuflobo & @ZipsVoice you both hit the keys that for this to be good for Wil, he has to get into the starting 11, and be involved in competitions beyond the Scottish Premiership.

It's wonderful that those 2 teams are so highly regarded. However, if the rest of the league = MLS, then the competition is no better than MLS except perhaps when those teams play each other. Personally, I'm not excited about Wil Trapp potentially going to Celtic.

My interest is how does Scottish Premiership compare to MLS? Would Wil Trapp really progress more with Celtic than with the Columbus Crew? My opinion is no. I don't think that Perry Kitchen gained anything by going to the Scottish Premiership. I'd hate for Wil to have a similar experience.

I listened to Groce on Zips Live tonight until I got a call. He said Sayles is playing the best basketball since he got to UA. He also said he would like a 9 man rotation but presently have 7, but that the 8 and 9 spots have to be earned. His happy with the offense but was not happy with the defense of second half Tuesday night.

In an interview a week or two ago I’m pretty sure Groce said they were flying. FWIW, Khadim Gueye is still listed on the GoZips dot com roster.
