UGIII blocks a FG for thr Steelers in early action.

Watching this video gives the impression that this will be an ongoing series. Therefore I’m giving it its own thread that we can update as updates are provided.

Ritaccio will serve suspension tomorrow at Xavier. I love Biros; he will be a big part of this squad’s success. This team is super deep, perhaps playing 16 players extensive minutes per match. Formation and personnel may not be consistent match in match out.

I think Akron will make this game a-lot closer than many folks have predicted.

Colin is one of the most dedicated players I've seen around the Akron pitch in the past 5 seasons, and that's tough to say. Not many thought he would get the minutes, let alone the starts, that he got early in 2018, but he earned everything he's gotten. I agree with the Grand Buff on this one!!!

My entire vote is based on nothing - just guessing like NWA, no logic to it.....also just knocking off the rust!

as we all remember, Carlo received a red card very late in the title game against Maryland. Most of us (myself included) felt that the foul only deserved a yellow card. As a result of the red card, Carlo must sit out the next game that Akron plays (in this case, first game of the season)

The Ice Cream Social was a nice event. The attendance wasn't great but OK. About 10 of the players were there. Some were in class. Spoke a little to Xeyrius, Dailey, Walter, Sayles and Roscoe. All very nice kids. Told Jayden it was nice to see him without a cast to which he responded with an emphatic "me too!" Maishe Dailey makes a great impression. Eloquent, makes eye contact and couldn't be friendlier. Coach Groce did a great job of working the room while not rushing anyone. From what I heard, Dawson is not a part of the team at this point and another potential contributor will not play this year. I don't want to openly air their laundry on here but feel free to message me for any details. The schedule is finalized but the MAC won't let them release it until after Labor Day as it is ironing out TV details.

Sad FYI. Current Triway coach and former Zip player & coach Sean Carmichael has died unexpectedly. Sean batted .342 during his time for our Zips (86-89). Great guy who deeply loved his family and the feeling was mutual. He will be missed.
