  1. Top Drawer soccer(TDS) is reporting that the Zips have their first recruit from the class of 2023 https://www.topdrawersoccer.com/club-soccer-articles/sima-recruiting-roundup:-may-16-22_aid50813 Class of 2023 D Joshua Hardin (Colorado Rapids) committed to Akron. From my limited research, this is an outstanding recruit for the Zips. Young Mr. Hardin is rated 4 stars by TDS...and Joshua is the 53rd ranked player in TDS's class of 2023. Welcome Joshua Hardin to Zips Nation.

  2. According to my wife there is not enough space here to describe all that is wrong with me. Lucky for you. Pity my wife.

  3. That’s too bad, but he was a long shot with the amount of offers he had rolling in. However, I like that JoeMo is swinging for the fences and was able to get a guy like Kilbane on campus.

  4. Obviously you have a negative view of UVU and the WAC. I think UVU was a great choice for both Olojapoke and Bandaogo. Much more diverse student body at a much larger university than Akron. One of the fastest growing universities in America. Campus buildings and athletic facilities are newer than UA and located in one of the fastest growing states in our country. Good luck to Aziz for future success.

  5. OK, I give up. You are correct Oakland has always sucked at baseball, and this year they appear to suck a little less because of their embarrassingly weak schedule which, as you mention, must certainly have been locked-in several years ago (after all, that's the way D1 football teams do it). However, I still think that if the Zips are looking to dump non-D1 teams from their schedule YSU and Purdue Fort Wayne would be better bus ride candidates than Oakland.

  6. I work until 7:30 a few blocks away but will probably stop in afterward. They’re doing a Rust Belt sweep (Ak, Kent, and three with Pitt) to warm up for the ACC tourney. Kind of interesting.

  7. Join the club. I keep checking this thread every day anticipating that one of you guys who keeps his finger of pulse of the transfer portal will be posting about the Zips new transfer QB. Nada. What is wrong with you guys?

  8. Sorry my statement wasn't clear enough. That was my point. That needs to stop. There's a lot of Akron gear out there with various logos. Some day, the new logo will likely be most prevalent, but I don't care what older Akron logo someone wears as long as all Akron alumni, fans, supporters, etc., wear Akron gear, new logo or preferred older logo, but not some other school's gear. Go Zips!

  9. The new logo looks fine to me, but my bottom line is ... Akron alumni, fans, supporters, etc., wear Akron gear, new logo or preferred older logo, but not some other school's gear. Go Zips!

  10. Following in the footsteps of Emmanuel Olojapoke, but will he ever match Poke's SR season averages of 5.6 pts, 4.8 rebounds and 2.7 BS per game against powerhouses like Antelope Valley and UTRGV? It will be interesting to see how Aziz develops.
