  1. Draftkings has MAC tournament odds on the book now Akron +155 Ohio +330 Toledo +340 Kent +600 BG + 1400 Miami +1600 CMU +2200 WMU +6500 There is some real value in OU. Pretty funny how they don't respect Toledo or CMU at all for their rankings

  2. Mark it Down: Zips will make the championship game. Crystal ball gets foggy at that point. Truly believe they will find their way past Miami and OU.

  4. It is impressive that you know so much about former members who exited the board so long ago. Sorry your friends ignored multiple warnings and still felt it was their right to trash the site that I helped create and fund. You say a banned member “disagreed” with something. When I wake up in the morning and review the board and see someone has left a profane string of all caps posts cyber bullying a woman, I delete them and issue a warning to stop. If that person doesn’t stop, they get banned. Technically they disagreed. But they did so in manner that is pathetic and inexcusable. The poster that gets liquored up and wants to fight doesn’t have a place on ZipsNation. Sorry. The lonely, self-important loser who feels I’m paying the money to run this site so they can bore members to death with incessant political posts doesn’t have a place on this site. Regardless of how interesting they feel they are. Your choice of “Che Guevara’s” is telling. Some of the worst people ever to stumble across this site. I enjoy the tone of today’s ZipsNation, the active members, the tremendous information and the respect everyone has for one another. If you don’t like it, I’ll give you your money back. Leave.

  6. The trend is that universities in a small-town setting like Kent, Bowling Green and others are indeed holding on to students and in some cases increasing their enrollment. Urban centers like Akron and Toledo (but not Cincinnati) are losing students. Talking to parents in my town (Columbus suburbs) many are simply afraid of the crime in Akron and the perception that it is not safe. My son is a freshman at UA; he liked the university and UA was very nice and supportive in the recruiting process. Out of his graduating class of almost 450 kids, he is the only one to enroll at UA. UA recruiting has to go deeper into these outerbelt central Ohio school districts where there are many college-viable students and quite a bit of hesitancy to go to Ohio State due to its size. Also, OSU is so big now and selective that a kid like mine with a good ACT score and a 3.6 GPA could not get onto main campus for his preferred major. UA and other Ohio universities have to exploit this.

  7. He leaves his feet too willingly to block shots. I think some teams are on to it. Groce also needs to spell him at the right times. Last game he had one personal foul with about 30 seconds remaining in the first half, and Groce didn't sub him out. He immediately got his second foul. And, if I recall correctly, almost got a 3rd foul (offensive) before the buzzer.

  9. Stan Heath gets my vote. He led a team he didn't recruit to the Elite 8 two decades ago.

  10. If it's his fault, then maybe you should blame Dr. Miller also. And if you blame Miller, then you're blaming the Board of Trustees. If you're blaming the BoT, then you are blaming the Ohio public education system. If you're blaming the public university system, isn't last night's loss an indictment of our national education system? I for one am not going to sit here and listen to anyone bad mouth the United States of America. You should be ashamed.

  11. We're 6-6 over our past 12 games. We've pretty much lost every "measuring stick" game this season. We are strongly heading in the wrong direction, at the wrong time. We started the season as the MAC favorites. Now we're relegated to a puncher's chance in Cleveland...if a couple of our guards decide to play as hard as the WMU guards competed in the second half last night. And we really haven't had any bad luck...were just Freeman at center, with a mediocre assembly of talent milling about him. I've never seen a team shoot as poorly as this one. When Freeman exits the game, we are a complete sh!tshow. We'd need to improve exponentially just to reach the level of "sieve" on the defensive side of the ball. That's just the way it is. See you Thursday night.
