  1. Great question. We have 3 players who are best suited at RT (Blanchard, Thomas, Walker) but one of them will likely play LT. My best guess is Blanchard since he started there last year before injuries limited most of his season. LT = Blanchard LG = Davis C = Williams RG = Seymore RT = Thomas Coach Rodriguez likes to play anywhere from 8-10 linemen each game so I’m sure if this ends up being the actual lineup we’ll still probably see Walker, Lyons, Fox, Burrell, and Fields work in. If James is ready to be the starter at LT like he was in the spring game, that’d give even more options. Perhaps Shor starts to play up to his potential too? We finally have an experienced OL with enough versatility and depth, should a few players get injured for any length of time, it shouldn’t derail performance like it did last season.

  2. In the process of updating the positions and realized both Fox and Walker were 1st Team JUCO All-Americans this past season. Not sure what went on at Texas State with Walker, but I’d imagine both players will be pushing for starting spots. At first I thought Fox would be the backup (and he still may be the backup), but he should at least push Williams for first team snaps.

  3. Congratulations to Richie Laryea and the Canada Mens national team for defeating Venezuela in the Copa America Quarterfinals Canada will play world number 1 Argentina in the semis on Tuesday night. Richie played 71 minutes. I thought that Richie played a fantastic game. Richie made 2 passes that Cyle Larin could have converted into goals. Richie also intercepted a pass and led a 2 on 2 break. I will look for player ratings tomorrow....but I felt that Jacob Shaffelburg, Alphonse Davies and Richie were Canada's 3 best players tonight.

  5. I think the ceiling next season is a MAC Championship with a chance at a March tournament win. (13 seed) but the floor is a frustrating 17-14 season where we as fans feel like this team has no chemistry and we just can never put it together. I think the keys to the ceiling season is: James Okonkwo: being a power 4 big in the MAC (Aka domination) The guys who “should” be good shooters actually being good shooters Sharron Young blossoms into the clutch killer he was in highschool and takes over games in crunch time. Making young kids everywhere in Akron pretending to be him in their driveways. I believe in John Groce to Gel the team and lead us into March excited to cut the nets in Cleveland.
