  1. Old Clarky is researching as we speak! I may have to travel to Jonesboro, Arkansas. Everyone should feel free to Venmo me some funds to assist in the costs of this trip. The Venmo account is under SendClarkietoTahiti@venmo.com.

  2. UA Alumni are holding a "Renew Your Wedding Vows" Ceremony in Lot #10 prior as part of their Homecoming festivities on Saturday. They offered a first come first served 8 spots beginning around 11:00 am for alumni couples (5 minutes per couple). So the wife and I are taking a 30 minute break from normal tailgating to do it. Should be fun. Interesting note - the Zips got beat by BGSU on our wedding day 31 years ago. I recall it was 35-0 at he half. I was listening to Dunn and French on my Walkman as the church was filling up. Hard to believe it's been 40 years since our first date. I don't have an actual date photo, but era-wise it feels like this one is close enough.

  5. The 4-3-3 (2-0) Zips will take on the 4-2-4 (1-0-1) Musketeers of Xavier at 7pm. Xavier is coming off a 0-0 draw at DePaul last Saturday. This is a great opportunity to take first place in the Midwest division as Marquette is playing at Seton Hall tonight Tailgate starting at 5pm, great weather, homecoming weekend. Hopefully we can get a crowd this team is starting to deserve

  6. Top Drawer soccer has highlighted the game as one of 5 to watch https://www.topdrawersoccer.com/article/?categoryId=21&articleId=53868&articleTitle=five-mens-di-games-to-watch-this-weekend Akron (4-3-3) vs. Xavier (4-2-4) - Friday, October 4th, 7 PM Eastern, FloSports Two teams plagued by inconsistencies, both Akron and Xavier have enjoyed wins against nationally ranked opponents, only to lose the next game to a much weaker opponent. Regardless, both are enjoying a minor unbeaten run and meet for a match that will shake up the Big East standings.

  7. The Women's soccer team is sorely in need of a goal scorer at this point. I was afraid that the pre-season success wouldn't translate to MAC success, and unfortunately so far it hasn't. The scores haven't been bad, but they hide the fact that the defense is under constant pressure, with lack of offensive threats. Four straight clean sheet losses are quickly making the tournament a pipe dream. Not through lack of effort, but Coach needs to find an answer soon, and Sunday vs. Ohio is a good time to find one. Bobcats are undefeated at 1-0-3, and beat Oakland 7-0 in mid-September, beat BG 3-0 and just had a nil-nil draw vs. Kent State. Go Zips!

  8. I think Finley deserves another game or two. Here’s the reason: This was his first mid major conference game. I agree he has to improve, but give him a minute to understand the difference between not being a P5 player vs. a G5 team. He’ll find a groove is my bet!

  9. It's a big factor in many ways. Physical and mental toll, but also this is a program with a losing culture. These guys haven't won in forever - what better way to change that culture by scheduling 3 non-winnable games out of the chute? It's like trying to turn the titanic with a fishing line

  10. Totally the same as OSU, South Carolina and Rutgers

  11. This is what happens when you sell out for the first month. Players beat down physically and mentally with no momentum going into the actual games that matter and should be winnable
