Miami is rarely playing past Thursday these days anyways. I can see a Toledo-BG semi-final drawing really well given it's a rivalry game and the fact both schools are well within driving distance. On the opposite end the possibility for a highly attended semi-final exists. Really the only way it will be poorly attended is if it's CMU-Buffalo.
This years tournament won't be setting any attendance records, but I don't see it being a disaster.
I'm not normally one to compliment the other team, but despite being down 20+, Miami is still playing with a lot of effort and diving after 50/50 balls. Despite what the score says, they didn't quit.
Voters look at the counting stats blocks, steals, & rebounds. If they actually looked at the point totals Ivey holds opposing leading scorers at, he'd easily be 1st team All-MAC.
I love how we've been faking the three in order to get a step on the primary defender. Have to keep attacking the basket. Miami is looking to run us off the 3-point line.
Can an 8 vs. a 9 seed really be a trap game? If we're looking past a team that finished 1 game behind us in the standings and beat us once, we have a problem.
Buffalo can be beat by someone and maybe that someone will be us. The thing is I can't remember the last time we strung 2 quality consecutive games together. We need to win 4 consecutive to make the tournament. Not happening.
Hosting Miami to see who will have the honor of being Buffalo's 1st victim. I'm so fed up with this season that I'm strongly just considering watching that game on TV.
There are no excuses next season. Akron returns a senior heavy roster in what should be a down year for the MAC. If Groce puts up another 8-10 year, I'm done.
I hadno problem not fouling on the inbounds. We would have gotten the ball with about 12 seconds left down 1 had we secured the rebound. That's plenty of time to get a good look on other end. We failed at fouling after they got the rebound.
Outside of that 1 possession where LCJ dribbled it into 3 Kent defenders and turned it over, I think he's been playing a smart game. He's passing it when he should and shooting it when has chance for high % shot.
Nearly 16 minutes left and we're already at 6 teams fouls. We've played great defense the entire game, but Kent is going to have opportunity for free points the rest of the game. Cheese has to be smarter than that.
