  1. His offer sheet looks really good. https://247sports.com/Recruitment/Adetutu-Daranijo-93549/RecruitInterests/
  2. 247 has been compiling rankings since around 2005. Hayes-Patrick has the 6th highest grade ever for an Akron recruit since that time. Thomas has the 8th highest grade. Akron's class still isn't graded highly because it lacks depth due to a late start and many players already being signed in the early signing period. I'm excited to see what Arth can do with a full recruiting cycle. https://247sports.com/college/akron/Sport/Football/AllTimeRecruits/
  3. I thought we looked good in the 2nd half when we were able to get out and run. The problem is Toledo quit missing so we were forced to play a half court game down the stretch. I really don't think there is a good solution to fix the half court offense. I'd like to see us Cheese more at the point. He seemed to create some offense for both himself and other. Perhaps taking some of the ball handling duties away from LCJ will set him up to get better looks. He seems to be trying to do too much at times.
  4. Toledo had no answer for Cheese but we got away from what worked
  5. Keep pushing it. Let's get into the bonus.
  6. I'd have to say that was the worst half of offense I've seen from the Zips this season. I didn't know it was possible for our offense to regress anymore. I was wrong.
  7. Akron's offense makes any teams defense look good. Not hard to defend when we would the Ball and try to play hero ball and we have a C that can't catch a pass.
  8. Our half court offense is non-existent. Do we even have any plays or do we just wing it?
  9. This is the worst MAC broadcast I've seen all season.
  10. It wouldn't surprise me if we're saving a scholarship or two and letting these pwo know they will have an opportunity to earn it in camp.
  11. I know the Zips have played at a slower pace all season, but Toledo's biggest weakness is athleticism. I'd like to see the Zips push the ball off of rebounds and turnovers and see if it can lead to some easy points in transition.
  12. This is great news. We should have a nice stable of backs now. Alce, White, and Hayes-Patrick were all 3* recruits. I've kind of felt O-line has been the issue the past few years as anyone we had back there trying to carry didn't have much success. Hopefully we see some improvements on the o-line to open up some running lanes.
  13. 7 FBS offers if I counted correctly. That would seem like a nice get.
  14. I can understand this logic. We have 3 tough games coming up @Toledo, vs. Kent, and vs. Buffalo. If we go 1-2 or worse during that stretch, I'll probably adopt this philosophy. If we go 2-1 or better, I'm going to continue holding out hope that we can win the MAC.
  15. Also, given our late start in recruiting and a new staff taking over, I wouldn't be surprised if we take a couple of transfers that fit the schemes of our new offensive and defensive coordinators.
  16. He did play a few games, but from what I understand it he had some back issues so they decided to just red shirt him.
  17. I'm actually with @zippy5 on this. Akron hangs banners for regular season championships, not 2nd or 3rd place finishes. Winning a regular season title also guarantees us nothing worse than a NIT postseason appearance.
  18. What I find great is NC State lost so badly to #11 VA Tech that they went from being ranked to not even receiving a single vote. I'm not surprised to see Buffalo still ranked. As I mentioned previously, their loss to NIU dropped them only 4 spots. They would have needed to fall 8 spots, if I remember their ranking last week correctly, to slide out of the top 25 and BG is better than NIU. Buffalo doesn't have a game until Saturday so as long as they beat CMU @ home, which I strongly feel they will, they will be ranked when they come to Akron.
  19. The Ball State player traveled when he hit the 3-pointer to force OT. It all evened out.
  20. There were. The arena seats over 13k so even at 8k the arena is only ~75% full. That's the problem with an oversized arena.
  21. They probably still had ~8k there. The problem is the Convo Center seats 13k+ so even with 8k in attendance that leaves a lot of empty seats. That's the problem of playing in an oversized arena.
  22. They still might be. They only dropped 4 spots when they lost to NIU and BGSU is better than NIU. It really just depends on how the other teams in the 20-30 range do.
  23. Buffalo had 49 at the half. BG played great defense in the 2nd half and used that to turn an 8 point half-time deficit into an 11 point lead with 3 minutes left. Buffalo stormed back and actually missed a 3 that would have tied it near the end.
  24. BGSU up 61-60 over Buffalo with just under 12 min left. Edit: BGSU up 79-71 with 6:19 left
  25. I've never had one, but if it's anything like trying to endure a 2nd half Zips road game, I want no part.
