The semifinals this year got picked up by cbssports when before they never had to cater to TV. It might make it a tad more inconvenient for Kent/Akron fans who could (planned) before conceivably make the drive after work and still make the game, but its better for the conference as a whole as fans in Buffalo, Ypsi, Kalamazoo, etc. that couldn't make the trip will be able to watch the game.

Outside of some recruit decommits, this appears to be the 1st real casualty of the post Fleck era. http://www.detroitnews.com/story/sports/college/2017/02/27/top-broncos-lb-robert-spillane-granted-transfer/98506014/

This kind of tells you all that you need to know about baseball. http://www.dailyprogress.com/news/local/when-it-comes-to-college-sports-revenue-even-a-powerhouse/article_29eb808c-edd8-11e3-9f88-0017a43b2370.html It's a huge money loser and in a city where there is a AA team a few blocks away, there just isn't a market for the team. The only way I see baseball returning is if the MAC makes it a mandatory sport, which seems unlikely.

Any word on how he's looked in practice?

From the post game after the Buffalo game, it seemed to me Dambrot has no intention on resting players down the stretch. He's planning to play to win the games. After the Kent game our next game would be 6 days away so it's not like rest would be needed. I'd be more concerned about rust.

Shouldn't be reaching there. Need to make them score with a running clock. -

If we could box out on rebounds, that would be great. -

Buffalo has 24 rebounds to our 12... -
I would have picked us losing this game even if he had beaten BG. It's a tough place to play and before Buffalo lost to Kent, I felt they were playing well.

That's what I insinuated Keener. We'll fine out definitively in a little under 10 hours. -

That's correct. We'd also need Ohio to lose. I haven't looked into it, but I hear Ohio would own the tie-breaker if we finish with the same record as they have a better division record. -
We just got basketball up and running in January. Only makes sense that was prioritized 1st as mens basketball I'm pretty sure is a requirement.

I'm not going to pretend to know much about the womens sports as I haven't been following. I've heard some say this was suppose to be a rebuilding year for womens basketball. I'm counting 6 true freshmen on the roster so that supports that idea. Have we ever been good at womens soccer?

It was a great article. I just wonder where he got the idea from (hint: view link below) http://www.crainscleveland.com/article/20170122/NEWS/170129967/espn3-is-a-valuable-tool-for-mac-schools

I just wasn't sure how you jumped to the assumption that people were insinuating he didn't have the right to express his 1st amendment right. Notice I did answer your question?

Where was it said he can't post? Nobody here is advocating for him to be blocked...

Because he's an Ohio Bobcats fan who posts for the sole purpose of trying to stir the pot. He does a pretty poor job at it though.

I quit listening when Pluto came on and they started talking Indians baseball. I incorrectly assumed they were done talking about the Zips. Glad to hear Brown has the time to still come around and assist the football program. Him being around the other players can help aspire them to give that extra 10% to get a taste of what Brown has achieved.

The Zips were so predictable. For the longest time they kept forcing 3s when they trimmed the deficit to 3 and I knew the entire time they were dribbling the ball up court they would be shooting a 3. This led to BG building the lead back to 6 or 8 and the Zips once again having to work to trim it back down. Just because you are down 3 with 6 minutes left doesn't mean you have to try to tie it up at that exact moment. Had they just continued doing what got them back in the game, they would have been able to build themselves a soft cushion. Instead they perpetually worked themselves out of a deficit to only get back into one.

Fair point, but I was referring to the season as a whole. BG did a really good job of trapping him and forcing him to pick up his dribble. A few times he got in really great position and the help defenders raked at the ball from behind as he was putting up his shot. Just in general teams will continue to give him hard double teams if Noah, Kwan, and Antino, and others can't hit their perimeter shots to keep the defense honest. In the bigger picture we need to find ways of getting Big Dog rest or else he will be completely exhausted for the final like he was last year against Buffalo and how he was down the stretch against OSU in the NIT. The problem is we kind of can't afford him not being being on the court.

Hard to give the bench more minutes when our 6th man is injured at the moment. I thought Aaron Jackson played one of his better games of the season. Perhaps the fact this was his 1st game in 2 weeks that he has seen the floor helped motivate him to play with more effort. I'd love to see Hughes develop and play as I feel he provides the closest skill set to fill in for Big Dog without the Zips having to completely alter their offense. Our offense looks lost when Big Dog is on the bench. Just a bunch of players standing around and forcing up a contested shot at some point in the shot clock. At this stage its late in the season and it appears Hughes back issue hindered his chances of progressing into the valuable player that he could have potentially been for us this season.

I completely forgot about this until I saw Dr.Z post. I managed to tune in for the last 15-20 minutes of the Larry Williams interview. Thanks for the recap @Dr Z.
